Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations in Belgrade, Maine. This role is focused on handling invoice activity with accuracy, maintaining organized payment records, and helping ensure vendors are paid on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple accounts payable tasks in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming invoices, assign the appropriate coding, and enter payment details accurately into the accounting system.
• Process invoices efficiently while checking for completeness, proper approvals, and alignment with internal payment procedures.
• Prepare and assist with routine check runs to support timely disbursement of vendor payments.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation for tracking, reconciliation, and audit readiness.
• Communicate with vendors and internal team members to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment questions, and missing information.
• Monitor payment schedules and help ensure outstanding obligations are addressed within established deadlines.
• Previous experience supporting accounts payable functions in an office or accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.
• Familiarity with preparing check runs and handling supporting payment documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and maintain accurate financial records.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and follow established workflows consistently.
