Job SummaryThe Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for managing the company's incoming payments, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and on time, tracking outstanding balances, and following up with customers to secure timely collections. The role plays a key part in maintaining healthy cash flow and accurate financial records.Key ResponsibilitiesGenerate and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely mannerMonitor accounts receivable ledger and track outstanding balancesFollow up with customers on overdue payments via calls, emails, and lettersReconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies or disputesApply and post incoming payments (bank transfers, cheques, cash) to correct accountsPrepare aging reports and provide regular updates to management on collection statusCoordinate with sales and customer service teams to resolve invoice disputesMaintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and documentationAssist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to ARSupport external and internal audits by providing necessary documentationRecommend and help implement process improvements to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO)Ensure compliance with company credit policies and relevant financial regulationsRequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldExperience1–2 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or general accountingSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of accounting principles and AR processesProficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)Advanced skills in MS ExcelExcellent numerical accuracy and attention to detailStrong communication and negotiation skills for customer follow-upGood organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesProblem-solving mindset for resolving discrepancies
