support long-term financial performance.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager to lead actuarial analysis, pricing, reserving, forecasting, capital modeling, portfolio analytics, risk assessment, and strategic actuarial initiatives.The ideal candidate will combine strong actuarial expertise with commercial judgment, advanced quantitative analysis, financial modeling, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to translate complex actuarial insights into practical business recommendations.The role will support the organization across the full insurance lifecycle, including product development, pricing, underwriting, claims, reserving, capital management, financial reporting, and strategic planning.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement actuarial strategies, methodologies, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.Lead actuarial activities across pricing, reserving, forecasting, capital, risk, portfolio analysis, and financial planning.Develop and maintain actuarial models for insurance liabilities, premiums, claims, expenses, profitability, capital requirements, and risk exposure.Perform actuarial pricing analyses for new and existing insurance products.Analyze historical claims experience, loss ratios, frequency, severity, exposure trends, development patterns, and other relevant actuarial data.Develop technical pricing models and assumptions consistent with risk characteristics, market conditions, and business objectives.Conduct rate adequacy reviews and recommend pricing adjustments where required.Analyze the impact of changes in deductibles, limits, exclusions, benefits, policy terms, and underwriting criteria on expected profitability.Work closely with Underwriting and Product teams to develop commercially competitive and technically sound insurance products.Support new-product development through actuarial feasibility analysis, pricing, profitability projections, and risk assessment.Monitor product performance after launch and recommend pricing or underwriting adjustments.Develop and maintain claims-reserving methodologies for relevant lines of business.Calculate and review outstanding claims liabilities, incurred-but-not-reported claims, loss development, and other relevant reserves.Conduct reserve adequacy assessments and investigate material deviations from expected claims development.Perform reserve sensitivity and scenario analyses.Coordinate with Finance regarding actuarial reserves, financial reporting, and insurance-liability calculations.Support preparation of actuarial information for financial statements and regulatory reporting.Analyze actual-versus-expected experience and identify key drivers of deviations.Develop forecasts for premiums, claims, expenses, profitability, capital requirements, and other financial metrics.Prepare actuarial projections for annual budgets, strategic plans, and business forecasts.Conduct profitability analysis by product, segment, geography, distribution channel, customer type, or other relevant dimensions.Identify underperforming portfolios and develop recommendations for improving risk-adjusted profitability.Analyze portfolio concentration, accumulation, diversification, and emerging risk trends.Support enterprise risk-management activities through actuarial analysis and quantitative risk assessments.Develop and maintain capital models and risk-based capital assessments where applicable.Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and capital adequacy assessments.Assess the impact of catastrophic events, economic changes, inflation, interest rates, market volatility, and other external factors on insurance portfolios.Support solvency assessments and regulatory capital requirements.Monitor capital adequacy and identify potential areas of financial or regulatory concern.Work closely with Risk Management, Finance, Investments, and Treasury teams on capital and balance-sheet management.Analyze reinsurance requirements and evaluate reinsurance structures, limits, retention levels, pricing, and expected risk transfer.Support reinsurance negotiations through actuarial analysis and portfolio modeling.Evaluate the financial impact of quota-share, excess-of-loss, facultative, stop-loss, and other reinsurance arrangements where applicable.Monitor reinsurance recoverables and associated counterparty risks.Develop actuarial reports, technical analyses, dashboards, forecasts, and management presentations.Communicate actuarial results and recommendations clearly to senior executives, business leaders, Underwriting teams, Finance, Risk, and other non-actuarial stakeholders.Translate complex actuarial findings into practical commercial and strategic recommendations.Establish and monitor actuarial KPIs covering pricing adequacy, reserve accuracy, loss ratios, profitability, capital requirements, forecast accuracy, and portfolio performance.Maintain comprehensive documentation of actuarial assumptions, methodologies, models, data sources, validation procedures, and results.Establish strong actuarial model-governance and documentation standards.Conduct actuarial model validation, assumption reviews, experience studies, and sensitivity testing.Ensure actuarial models remain fit for purpose and appropriately controlled.Monitor data quality and work with Data, IT, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve data inconsistencies or limitations.Develop automated actuarial reporting and analytical solutions where appropriate.Use advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, and other quantitative techniques to improve actuarial decision-making where appropriate.Monitor developments in actuarial science, insurance technology, regulatory requirements, pricing methodologies, and industry practices.Assess emerging risks such as climate-related exposures, cyber risk, inflation, technological change, longevity trends, and other evolving insurance risks.Work with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure actuarial activities comply with applicable regulatory and governance requirements.Support internal and external audits, actuarial reviews, regulatory submissions, and governance assessments.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Performance will be measured through a insurance, pricing, reserving, risk management, financial modeling, or a related field.Experience across property & casualty, life, health, specialty, commercial, or other insurance lines would be advantageous depending on the organization's business model.The candidate should demonstrate strong technical actuarial capabilities while also understanding commercial strategy, underwriting, claims, associate-level actuarial qualification through a recognized professional body is advantageous.Experience working within the UAE or wider GCC insurance and financial-services market is highly desirable.
