Role Description The Director role at Sterling is a full-time, on-site position based in Katowice. This role is responsible for leading strategic initiatives across Sterling’s service lines, ensuring operational excellence in credit management, customer experience, debt recovery, and finance and accounting. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting and monitoring performance targets, overseeing senior managers, and driving continuous improvement in processes and service delivery. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align services with client needs, manage key accounts, and support business development efforts. The role also involves budget oversight, risk management, and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture that supports multilingual and cross-border operations.QualificationsDemonstrated leadership experience in operations, shared services, or BPO environments, preferably in finance, credit management, or customer service.Strong strategic planning and execution skills, including experience defining KPIs, managing budgets, and delivering measurable efficiency gains.Proficiency in stakeholder management, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams.Experience managing multicultural or multilingual teams and operating in international markets.Solid understanding of financial processes such as credit control, debt recovery, payroll, tax, and financial reporting.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven approach to operational improvement.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Background in sectors such as telecom, recruitment, accountancy, consulting, or utilities is beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Katowice, with a high level of integrity, ownership, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
