in our Funchal office, you will help manage, secure and evolve the infrastructure that supports our websites, landing pages, internal platforms and digital operations.You will work closely with the technical and development teams to manage Linux servers, hosting environments, domains, DNS, email, SSL certificates, backups, monitoring and security controls.This position requires a hands-on professional with strong Linux administration skills, practical hosting experience and a security-first mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain Linux-based production servers and hosting environments.Administer WHM/cPanel, CloudLinux, hosting accounts, packages, quotas and permissions.Create, configure and migrate hosting accounts, websites, databases and email services.Manage domains, DNS records, nameservers, DNSSEC and Amazon Route 53.Configure and monitor SSL certificates and automated renewal processes.Manage Apache, PHP-FPM, PHP versions, MariaDB/MySQL and related web services.Support the infrastructure requirements of PHP and Laravel applications.Implement server hardening, firewall rules, MFA, VPN access and least-privilege policies.Manage ModSecurity, Imunify360, malware detection and account isolation controls.Monitor server availability, performance, storage, memory, CPU and network usage.Centralize and review system, security and administrative logs.Configure, monitor and test external backups and disaster recovery procedures.Perform regular restore tests to confirm backup integrity.Investigate malware, suspicious access, email abuse, spam and service disruptions.Apply operating system, control panel and security updates.Manage administrative credentials, SSH keys, API tokens and access permissions.Automate recurring infrastructure tasks using Bash, APIs, Python or Ansible.Document infrastructure, changes, incidents and recovery procedures.Participate in infrastructure migrations and planned maintenance windows.Work with developers to troubleshoot application, database, DNS, email and server-related issues.Support incident response and service recovery when required.QualificationsThree or more years of professional experience in Linux system administration.Strong experience administering Linux servers in production environments.Practical experience with WHM/cPanel using root-level access.Experience migrating cPanel accounts, websites, databases and email services.Good knowledge of AlmaLinux, CloudLinux, Rocky Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu or similar distributions.Strong understanding of DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SMTP, SPF, DKIM and DMARC.Experience with Apache, PHP-FPM, MariaDB or MySQL.Knowledge of firewalls, SSH security, MFA, VPN access and least-privilege principles.Experience with server hardening, patch management and vulnerability remediation.Experience configuring and testing external backups and recovery procedures.Ability to investigate logs, service failures and security incidents.Knowledge of Bash scripting and Git.Good documentation and communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively in English.Ability to work collaboratively and independently when required.Nice to HaveExperience
