Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking an experienced Administrative Hearing Officer to conduct high-volume telephonic administrative hearings, evaluate evidence and testimony, and issue timely written decisions in accordance with applicable Federal and Arizona laws.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct multiple telephonic administrative hearings each day, take testimony, make evidentiary rulings, and control the hearing while maintaining judicial temperament and decorum.Review case files and hearing records in preparation for hearings.Ensure proper legal notice is provided to parties regarding hearing time, date, place, and issues.Apply Federal and Arizona law to the facts presented and draft and issue timely final decisions.Respond promptly to work-related communications throughout the workday.Analyze and synthesize complex information from multiple sources.Diplomatically manage and minimize conflicts between parties.Maintain professionalism, active listening, and appropriate hearing decorum.Required Skills & AbilitiesExperience working as an Administrative Hearing Officer.Excellent time management skills and ability to manage a high volume of cases within strict deadlines.Strong legal writing skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and plainly.Knowledge of, or ability to learn and apply:Rules of EvidenceAdministrative procedureJudicial and legal ethicsDue process requirementsApplicable Federal and State laws and regulationsStrong understanding of human behavior and psychology.Strong active listening and analytical skills.Proficiency with word processing and communications software.Ability to quickly learn proprietary applications and virtual desktop environments.Strong conflict-resolution and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience serving as a Hearing Officer in administrative hearings.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Law degree from an accredited law school.Arizona resident preferred.Active membership and good standing with a State Bar Association preferred.Additional InformationMonday–Friday onlyWork is performed during Arizona business hours.100% Remote – Out-of-state candidates are welcome..Writing sample required with application.
