AI Agent Engineer

Role: AI Agent EngineerLocation: San FranciscoCompensation: up to $250,000 (depending on experience)We're partnering with a high-growth AI company building the next generation of intelligent software systems within healthcare. They are looking for a strong software engineer who has hands-on experience building and shipping AI agents into production.What You'll DoDesign, build, and ship AI agents and agentic workflows into production.Develop systems that enable AI agents to reason, use tools, retrieve information, and complete complex tasks.Build and improve RAG systems, agent harnesses, and supporting infrastructure.Debug and evaluate agent behaviour across real-world use cases.Identify failure modes and develop strategies to improve agent reliability, accuracy, and consistency.Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn emerging AI capabilities into production-ready experiences.Develop evaluation and quality frameworks to understand how agents perform and where they need improvement.What We're Looking ForStrong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems.Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI agents into production.Practical understanding of agentic architectures, workflows, tool use, and RAG.Experience debugging, evaluating, and improving AI agent behaviour.Strong intuition for how AI systems behave in production, including their limitations and failure modes.Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment where the technology and best practices are constantly evolving.A builder's mindset and willingness to experiment, iterate, and solve ambiguous problems.If you're excited by the opportunity that enables technical users to run sophisticated AI-powered workflows, apply below!
