AI & Data – Manager (Data Science & AI)

EY's AI & Data team is looking for an experienced Manager (Data Science & AI) to help organizations unlock value from data and accelerate AI-driven transformation. As part of our Technology Consulting practice, you will lead the delivery of advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions for clients across various industries.You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and technology teams to solve complex business problems through innovative AI and data science approaches. This is a full-time role based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.Key Responsibilities:Lead the delivery of end-to-end AI and data science engagements, from problem definition and solution design through deployment and adoption.Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and Generative AI solutions.Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions that address business challenges and generate measurable value.Lead the development of Generative AI applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for use cases such as intelligent search, document understanding, virtual assistants, content generation, and knowledge management.Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, vector search, and AI agent solutions.Provide guidance on AI governance, responsible AI, model risk management, and ethical AI practices.Work closely with Data Engineering and Cloud teams to operationalize AI solutions through scalable architecture and deployment pipelines.Manage project teams, mentor junior team members, and contribute to capability development across the AI & Data practice.Present findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and executive-level stakeholders.Support business development activities, proposal preparation, solutioning workshops, and client pursuits.Skills and Attributes for Success:Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to engage stakeholders and translate business requirements into AI-driven solutions.Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI/ML development frameworks.Experience developing and deploying machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI solutions in enterprise environments.Strong understanding of model lifecycle management, MLOps, and production deployment considerations.Knowledge of emerging AI technologies, trends, and industry best practices.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.To qualify for the role, you must have:A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 6+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Advanced Analytics.Proven experience leading AI and data science projects from strategy through implementation.Hands-on experience in machine learning model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.Experience delivering client-facing engagements, including stakeholder management and project leadership.Strong proficiency in Python and common AI/ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.Experience with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs and foundation models.Technical Experience:Machine Learning and Predictive AnalyticsStatistical Modelling and Advanced AnalyticsNatural Language Processing (NLP)Deep Learning FrameworksLarge Language Models (LLMs)Generative AI and Prompt EngineeringRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)AI Agents and Intelligent AutomationVector Databases and Semantic SearchMLOps and Model Lifecycle ManagementPython, SQL and Data Science ToolingCloud AI Platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)Ideally, you'll also have:Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or equivalent AI platforms.Experience implementing Responsible AI frameworks and AI governance controls.Professional certifications such as:Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist AssociateAWS Certified Machine Learning – SpecialtyDatabricks Machine Learning CertificationPrior consulting or professional services experience.Experience leading teams and mentoring junior professionals.What we look forExperience engaging with both technical and business stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.Strong consulting experience and the ability to work directly with clients to solve complex business challenges.Demonstrated leadership in delivering AI, data science, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams comprising Data Scientists, Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and Solution Architects.Passion for innovation and emerging AI technologies, with a focus on creating measurable business impact.EY offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with your work experience where you'll be rewarded for your individual and team performance.
