Location: Hyderabad, IndiaWork arrangement: On-siteDuration: 6 monthsType: Full-time InternshipStipend: ₹15000 per monthpharma& is looking for a talented AI & Machine Learning Intern to join our team in Hyderabad.This internship is designed for candidates with a strong technical foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning who are looking to apply their skills to real-world business problems.We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate practical experience through academic, personal, open-source or professional AI/ML projects.What you will work onAs part of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to AI, machine learning and data-driven initiatives, potentially including:Developing and evaluating machine learning modelsExploring Generative AI and Large Language Model applicationsWorking with structured and unstructured dataSupporting proof-of-concepts and AI prototypesData preparation, exploratory analysis and feature engineeringExperimenting with LLM APIs, open-source models and AI development frameworksExploring Retrieval-Augmented Generation, semantic search and vector databasesSupporting the development of scalable AI and analytics solutionsWorking alongside colleagues across data, analytics, digital and business functionsQualificationsCandidates should have:A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or currently be studying towards a degree, in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative fieldStrong Python programming skillsHands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy and Scikit-learnHands-on experience with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlowGood understanding of data structures, algorithms, probability, statistics and mathematical concepts relevant to machine learningDemonstrated experience building, training and evaluating machine learning modelsAbility to select and interpret appropriate evaluation metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, ROC-AUC, RMSE or similarUnderstanding of data preparation, feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, model validation and model optimisationWorking knowledge of Git and GitHubUnderstanding of Large Language Model concepts, including tokenisation, embeddings, encoder/decoder architectures, prompting, context windows, pre-training and fine-tuningHands-on experience using an LLM API, open-source LLM or AI development frameworkFamiliarity with prompting and in-context learningStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and take ownership of technical problemsStrong communication skills and the ability to explain technical work clearlyDemonstrable AI/ML project requiredApplicants must have at least one AI, machine learning or data science project that they can demonstrate and explain in detail during the interview.Please include a link to your GitHub repository, portfolio, notebook or project/demo as part of your application.Applications without evidence of a technical project may not be progressed.Experience with any of the following would be an advantageRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Vector databases and semantic searchHugging Face / TransformersLangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or Semantic KernelNatural Language ProcessingTime-series modelling and forecastingSQLAPIs and data pipelinesAzure or other cloud platformsDockerMLOps and model deployment conceptsMicrosoft Fabric or Power BIOpen-source contributions or publicly available technical projectsInternship requirementsCandidates must be able to work full-time and on-site from our Hyderabad office for the full six-month internship.We are looking for candidates who are technically curious, enjoy solving complex problems and can demonstrate that they have already started building and experimenting with AI and machine learning technologies.
