AI & Technology Developer– Intern

OverviewWe are looking for highly motivated, technically curious and entrepreneurial graduate to join our team and help build the next generation of our internal technology and data platform.This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career technology professional who is passionate about Artificial Intelligence, software development, data and digital innovation, and who enjoys turning ideas into practical solutions.You will initially join us as an Intern, with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance, capability and business requirements.This is not a traditional Data Analyst or IT support role. We are looking for a hands-on builder who is comfortable experimenting with new technologies, using AI-assisted development tools and creating practical applications that solve real business problems.You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand how the team currently operates and help transform information and processes that are spread across Excel files, folders and different systems into centralized, user-friendly digital solutions.ResponsibilitiesWork with business data to clean, organize, structure and analyse information, ensuring it can be effectively used within digital platforms and reporting tools.Use AI and AI-assisted development tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and similar technologies, to accelerate development, research, problem-solving and automation.Support the design and development of websites, web applications, internal platforms and digital tools.Help build and improve a new in-house CRM and business technology platform.Consolidate information currently held across Excel files, folders and existing systems into centralized and structured databases and platforms.Develop dashboards, reporting tools, workflows and user interfaces that make business information easier to access, understand and use.Assist with database design, data structures, SQL, and integration of different sources of information.Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify inefficiencies and translate ideas into practical technology solutions.Identify opportunities to use AI, automation and technology to improve existing processes and reduce manual work.Research, test and experiment with emerging AI technologies and development approaches, assessing their practical application to the business.Take ownership of assigned projects, manage tasks independently and proactively identify solutions rather than waiting for detailed instructions.Continuously improve and iterate solutions based on user feedback and business requirements.As the platform develops, there may be an opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and contribute to building a long-term technology and innovation capability within the business.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical discipline.Recent graduate or early-career candidate with a strong interest in AI, software development, data and technology.Good understanding of programming fundamentals, with experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++ or similar.Basic understanding of databases, SQL, and data structures.Practical experience building a website, web application, software project, dashboard, automation or other technology solutions is highly desirable.Practical exposure to AI/LLMs and AI-assisted coding platforms, such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems into practical solutions.Ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently, and willingness to experiment with unfamiliar tools.A builder mentality. Someone who enjoys creating, testing, experimenting and finding better ways of doing things.Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding how technology can solve real business problems.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.The Ideal CandidateSomeone who is technically strong, curious and highly hands-on. You may have experience or recently graduated, but you have already started building things yourself, whether through university projects, personal projects, freelance work, internships or simply experimenting with technology. You are comfortable using AI tools to accelerate your work, but you also understand the fundamentals behind what you are building.You don’t need to know everything.
