AI Assistant Product Owner

Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole ContextThis role is being created to give a single owner to a critical product: a voice-based AI assistant that interacts with management and responds based on company knowledge.Today, responsibility is shared across multiple people and projects, which has created a reliability issue that we cannot afford when dealing with important clients. Whoever takes on this role will leave their other responsibilities behind and focus exclusively on this product. What the Person Must Be Able to DoUnderstand and manage a system that responds in real time based on company documents and data, such as retrieving information from a knowledge base, even though they are not required to write the code from scratch.Speak the technical language of the people building the system—backend and AI agents—well enough to translate a founder's idea into clear requirements for the team, without misunderstandings.Manage a priority list: what should be built first and what should come later, based on actual value rather than what is technically more convenient. What the Person Must Be — and This Matters More Than Technical SkillsAbsolute Reliability in CommitmentsThe interview question we ask is a single one:“What do you do on the morning of an important appointment?”The correct answer should involve arriving early, testing everything, and having a Plan B.Anyone who answers by thinking about dealing with a last-minute emergency is not the right person for this role.Timely HonestyThe person must be able to clearly state what is not ready before it becomes a problem, rather than showing up and simply hoping everything will work out.Understanding of Our Two Basic RulesKeep data isolated for each context. No important decision should be made without going through a human approval step. How We Select the CandidateLook among candidates who have already demonstrated the required level of competence and reliability. Identify candidates whose previous experience or evaluation records have already demonstrated, in an observable way, two things:Attention to detail when the work affects something visible to the client. The ability to handle unexpected situations without disappearing.Conduct the interview using the same evaluation framework based on the two laws that we use for everyone. However, add this additional question:“What do you do on the morning of an important appointment?”Evaluate the answer according to the same rule we always use:A score only counts when there is a real fact behind it, not a promise.
