Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe successful candidate will oversee the avatar production process from concept and character definition through visual development, 3D production, animation, AI integration, performance, testing, and final delivery.This is a hands-on interdisciplinary role working closely with character designers, 3D artists, animators, technical artists, AI specialists, conversational designers, writers, voice and performance teams, developers, and UX specialists. The AI Avatar Producer will ensure that creative vision, character identity, AI behavior, visual quality, performance, technical requirements, and production schedules remain aligned throughout the project.ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end production of AI avatars for digital characters, virtual humans, and interactive AI experiences.Translate character concepts, personalities, narratives, user requirements, and product goals into clear avatar production plans and deliverables.Coordinate the development of avatar visual identity, including appearance, facial characteristics, body proportions, clothing, accessories, styling, and overall character consistency.Plan and coordinate 3D character production, including modeling, sculpting, retopology, UVs, texturing, materials, shading, hair, clothing, and related assets.Coordinate rigging, skinning, facial systems, blendshapes, body deformation, eye movement, lip synchronization, and animation requirements.Manage the integration of motion capture, facial capture, voice performance, animation, and other performance data into avatar production.Coordinate avatar implementation in real-time environments such as Unreal Engine and Unity, including integration with digital human and virtual character systems.Work closely with AI and conversational teams to connect avatar appearance, voice, personality, behavior, memory, dialogue, and interaction.Ensure consistency between the avatar's visual identity, personality, narrative role, emotional behavior, voice, and performance.Coordinate the integration of facial expressions, body language, gestures, gaze, posture, movement, and other non-verbal communication.Develop production schedules, milestones, briefs, task lists, dependencies, and delivery plans for avatar projects.Coordinate internal specialists, freelancers, vendors, and technical partners involved in avatar production.Monitor production quality across modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, facial performance, voice, AI behavior, and real-time implementation.Identify production risks, technical constraints, creative inconsistencies, and dependencies, and coordinate solutions with relevant teams.Organize reviews, iteration cycles, quality-control sessions, and approval processes throughout production.Oversee testing of avatars across different scenarios, platforms, devices, interaction modes, and performance conditions.Evaluate avatar quality in terms of visual consistency, realism or stylization, responsiveness, emotional expression, performance, interaction quality, and character continuity.Coordinate optimization of avatar assets and real-time performance, including polygon count, textures, materials, animation systems, loading requirements, and runtime performance.Maintain production documentation, technical specifications, asset lists, version histories, character references, and delivery records.Establish reusable production workflows, standards, templates, and pipelines for future AI avatar projects.Research emerging technologies in AI avatars, digital humans, generative AI, real-time rendering, character animation, neural rendering, performance capture, and interactive digital characters.Work with creative and technical leadership to continuously improve the quality, scalability, and production efficiency of AI avatar development.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Digital Media, Animation, Computer Graphics, Game Development, Film, Visual Effects, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Interactive Media, Virtual Production, or a related field.At least 3–5 years of experience in digital character production, animation, virtual production, game development, digital humans, interactive media, or a comparable production environment.Demonstrable experience coordinating multidisciplinary creative and technical production teams.Strong understanding of the complete digital character and avatar production pipeline, from concept development and 3D asset creation to animation, performance, AI integration, and real-time delivery.Practical familiarity with tools and platforms such as Unreal Engine, Unity, MetaHuman, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, 3ds Max, Houdini, MotionBuilder, Substance 3D, or comparable technologies.Good understanding of character modeling, rigging, skinning, blendshapes, facial animation, body animation, lip synchronization, eye movement, and performance capture.Experience with motion capture, facial capture, voice performance, animation, or virtual production workflows.Familiarity with AI-powered characters, conversational AI, large language models (LLMs), AI agents, generative AI, digital humans, or interactive avatar systems.Understanding of how AI personality, dialogue, memory, behavior, voice, facial expression, and body movement can be integrated into a coherent digital character.Strong project management skills, including schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource coordination, risk management, and delivery tracking.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate artists, animators, AI specialists, developers, writers, designers, performers, and technical teams.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies across visual, behavioral, narrative, and technical aspects of an avatar.Ability to translate creative concepts into structured production requirements, briefs, specifications, and actionable tasks.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-moving interdisciplinary environments.Experience with version control, asset management, production documentation, and collaborative workflows.Portfolio, showreel, or documented track record of relevant digital character,
