Job Title: AI Character Narrative Manager — 1 PositionAbout the JobWe are seeking a creative and highly organized AI Character Narrative Manager to oversee the narrative identity, storytelling framework and ongoing narrative development of AI-powered characters. The successful candidate will manage how characters think, communicate, behave and evolve across conversations, interactive experiences, virtual environments and digital platforms.This is a hands-on, interdisciplinary role working closely with AI specialists, writers, narrative designers, character designers, conversational designers, voice and performance professionals and product teams. The role combines character storytelling, narrative management, conversational design and AI-assisted content development to ensure that every AI character remains coherent, distinctive, emotionally engaging and narratively consistent across different contexts and interactions.ResponsibilitiesDefine and manage the narrative identity, personality and storytelling framework of AI-powered characters.Develop character backstories, motivations, values, goals, conflicts, relationships and long-term character arcs.Create and maintain comprehensive character bibles covering personality, history, communication style, behavioral principles and narrative boundaries.Establish narrative rules that define how AI characters communicate, react, develop relationships and respond to different situations.Manage dialogue systems, conversational scenarios, narrative flows and character-specific interaction frameworks.Work closely with AI and conversational technology teams to translate narrative requirements into prompts, system instructions and behavioral specifications.Ensure that AI-generated responses remain consistent with the character's personality, history, tone and narrative context.Develop narrative scenarios for different user types, situations, emotional states and interaction environments.Design long-term character development strategies that allow characters to evolve without losing their core identity.Coordinate character narratives across multiple platforms, including virtual worlds, digital humans, avatars, AI assistants, games and immersive experiences.Review and curate AI-generated dialogue, stories and character interactions for narrative quality, consistency and emotional credibility.Create guidelines for character voice, vocabulary, humor, emotional expression, conversational style and storytelling behavior.Collaborate with writers and narrative designers to develop new stories, events, conversations and character experiences.Work with character designers, animators and voice professionals to align narrative identity with visual and performance characteristics.Coordinate with product and UX teams to ensure that narrative decisions support meaningful and intuitive user experiences.Develop systems for managing character lore, relationships, memories, events and evolving narrative information.Monitor user interactions and feedback to identify narrative inconsistencies, character drift and opportunities for improvement.Establish quality standards and review processes for AI character content before deployment.Support the development of original character universes, narrative IP and interconnected AI character ecosystems.Research emerging approaches in generative AI, conversational AI and adaptive storytelling to improve character narrative systems.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Creative Writing, Screenwriting, Narrative Design, Dramatic Arts, Film, Game Design, Interactive Media, Communication, Psychology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.At least 3–5 years of experience in narrative design, character development, creative writing, conversational design, game writing, interactive storytelling or a related field.Demonstrable experience managing character narratives, story systems, fictional universes or interactive character experiences.Strong understanding of character development, narrative structure, dialogue, storytelling and emotional continuity.Ability to translate complex character concepts into clear narrative rules, behavioral guidelines and conversational frameworks.Strong editorial skills with excellent attention to narrative consistency, tone, character voice and continuity.Experience working with generative AI, conversational AI, AI characters, virtual humans or other AI-powered interactive systems is highly desirable.Experience designing prompts, system instructions, character specifications or AI behavioral guidelines is an advantage.Understanding of memory, context, personalization and adaptive behavior in conversational AI is an advantage.Experience with games, virtual worlds, XR, digital humans, interactive media or immersive storytelling is an advantage.Ability to collaborate effectively with AI engineers, writers, designers, artists, animators, voice professionals and product teams.Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple characters, narratives and content streams simultaneously.Excellent English communication and writing skills;
