Job Title: AI Character Trainer — Digital Humans & Virtual Characters (1 Position)About the JobWe are seeking a creative, analytical, and detail-oriented AI Character Trainer to help train, refine, and improve the behavior, personality, communication, performance, and interaction capabilities of AI characters, digital humans, virtual humans, and interactive avatars.The successful candidate will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, character development, storytelling, human behavior, performance, and interactive systems. The role involves preparing training materials, defining character behaviors, evaluating AI-generated responses and performances, identifying inconsistencies, and providing structured feedback that helps AI characters become more natural, coherent, expressive, context-aware, and consistent with their intended identity.This is a hands-on, cross-disciplinary role working closely with AI specialists, character designers, writers, animators, performance specialists, conversation designers, developers, and creative directors to transform character concepts into believable and consistently performing AI-driven characters.ResponsibilitiesTrain and refine AI characters by developing structured examples, scenarios, dialogues, behavioral patterns, and performance references.Define character-specific personality traits, communication styles, motivations, values, emotional ranges, behavioral boundaries, and interaction principles.Develop detailed character behavior profiles and training guidelines that establish how each character should communicate, react, express emotion, make decisions, and respond to different situations.Create and curate high-quality training datasets, dialogue examples, role-play scenarios, behavioral examples, and evaluation cases for AI characters.Develop conversation and interaction scenarios covering routine, emotional, unexpected, ambiguous, and challenging situations.Evaluate AI-generated dialogue, responses, actions, emotional reactions, and behavioral decisions against predefined character standards.Identify inconsistencies in personality, tone, memory, emotional behavior, knowledge boundaries, dialogue style, and character identity.Provide structured feedback and corrective examples to improve character behavior and model performance.Work with AI and machine-learning specialists to translate behavioral observations and creative requirements into actionable training and evaluation requirements.Develop prompt structures, system instructions, behavioral rules, example conversations, and other character-conditioning materials when appropriate.Test how characters respond to different users, contexts, personalities, emotional states, and interaction scenarios.Evaluate whether AI characters maintain consistent identities across long conversations and changing contexts.Help develop emotional and behavioral response frameworks for AI characters, including empathy, humor, conflict, uncertainty, curiosity, hesitation, excitement, frustration, and other human-like states.Work with writers and narrative teams to ensure that character dialogue and behavior remain consistent with the character's story, background, motivations, and relationships.Collaborate with animation and performance teams to connect AI-generated behavior and dialogue with facial expression, body movement, gesture, voice, and other forms of digital performance.Evaluate multimodal character behavior across text, voice, facial expression, animation, and interactive actions.Support the development of training scenarios for interactive and real-time AI characters.Design edge cases and adversarial scenarios to identify undesirable, inconsistent, unnatural, or out-of-character behaviors.Participate in character testing, user testing, playtesting, conversational evaluations, and performance reviews.Create evaluation criteria, scoring frameworks, test cases, and quality standards for AI character behavior.Maintain structured records of training examples, behavioral issues, evaluation results, revisions, and character updates.Track recurring behavioral problems and work with technical teams to identify patterns and possible causes.Help establish feedback loops between character design, AI training, conversation design, animation, performance, and user interaction.Research emerging approaches in AI character development, conversational AI, behavioral modeling, synthetic personalities, digital humans, and interactive agents.Contribute to scalable methodologies for training and evaluating multiple AI characters with different personalities, roles, and behavioral requirements.Ensure that AI characters remain coherent, believable, context-sensitive, and aligned with their defined identities throughout development and deployment.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Linguistics, Computer Science, Animation, Game Development, Digital Media, Creative Writing, Theatre, Film, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in AI training, conversational AI, data annotation, dialogue design, character development, game narrative, behavioral design, AI evaluation, or a closely related discipline.Strong understanding of AI-generated dialogue, conversational systems, language models, and the principles of training or evaluating AI behavior.Demonstrable ability to analyze human conversation, personality, emotional expression, social behavior, and contextual responses.Strong understanding of character development, personality construction, narrative consistency, dialogue, and behavioral motivation.Experience creating, annotating, evaluating, or curating datasets for AI or machine-learning systems is highly desirable.Experience with large language models (LLMs), conversational AI, prompt engineering, system instructions, evaluation frameworks, or AI agent systems.Ability to write high-quality dialogue, role-play scenarios, behavioral examples, and character-specific interaction patterns.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle inconsistencies in tone, personality, emotional behavior, logic, and conversational context.Experience with AI character platforms, virtual humans, avatars, game characters, interactive storytelling, or digital assistants is an asset.Understanding of multimodal AI, voice AI, facial animation, digital performance, or real-time character systems is highly desirable.Ability to collaborate effectively with AI engineers, developers, writers, animators, artists, performers, designers, and creative directors.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn qualitative observations into structured feedback and measurable evaluation criteria.Ability to work systematically with large volumes of examples, scenarios, conversations, and evaluation results.Strong communication and documentation skills.Portfolio, case studies, sample character designs, dialogue systems, AI projects, evaluation work, or other evidence demonstrating relevant experience.Fluency in English;
