AI Developer

We are seeking an AI Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of AI solutions within BT.As an AI Developer, you will be responsible for building and integrating AI-based components into internal applications and business processes, supporting ongoing AI initiatives, and ensuring that existing AI solutions remain stable and effective as underlying AI models evolve or are replaced.This is a hands-on technical role, focused on software development, AI integration, testing, data preparation, and implementation support. You will work closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, governance/risk functions, and external vendors involved in delivering AI solutions for BT.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain AI-based solutions for internal business processes and enterprise applications.Integrate AI models into applications, APIs, workflows, and existing enterprise systems.Design multi-agent workflows and reasoning pipelines for AI-driven solutions.Support AI initiatives that are currently in implementation, ensuring technical delivery, testing, and production readiness.Contribute to the analysis, design, and technical implementation of AI use cases across different areas of BT and its subsidiaries.Analyze, clean, structure, and organize unstructured data used in AI projects.Evaluate, adjust, and optimize existing AI solutions when underlying models are changed, replaced, or decommissioned.Test and validate AI outputs to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with expected business results.Collaborate with internal development teams to define integration approaches, technical requirements, and implementation options.Provide technical support for external vendors developing AI solutions for BT.Contribute to the implementation of the general SDLC/ADLC tool, intended to be used by IT teams.Troubleshoot technical issues related to AI integrations, model behavior, APIs, data flows, and application components.Document technical configurations, implementation decisions, testing results, and support procedures.Stay up to date with AI development practices, LLM capabilities, cloud AI services, and enterprise integration patterns.Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Software Developer, AI Developer, or similar technical role.Strong programming skills in Python, .NET, or similar development technologies.Experience or strong interest in AI, Generative AI, Large Language Models, and AI-based application development.Experience with multi-agent workflows, reasoning pipelines, AI orchestration, or agent-based architectures.Experience with unstructured data analysis, cleaning, organizing, and preparation, especially in the context of AI projects.Good understanding of software development principles, application architecture, APIs, and system integration.Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Azure and/or AWS.Familiarity with AI services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or similar technologies.Understanding of concepts such as prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, embeddings, vector search, or model integration.Ability to test, validate, and compare AI-generated outputs across different model versions.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple initiatives running in parallel.Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.Attention to detail and focus on delivering reliable, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions.Nice to HaveExperience with enterprise AI implementations.Experience with banking, financial services, risk, compliance, or governance-related projects.Knowledge of SDLC/ADLC processes and software lifecycle management.Experience with secure AI integration, data privacy, access control, and auditability.Experience with monitoring, evaluating, and improving AI solution performance over time.Familiarity with model lifecycle management and the impact of model replacement or decommissioning on existing AI solutions.
