We're working with a rapidly growing, well-funded Series B AI software business applying agentic AI to complex, real-world workflows.They've established a specialist AI Engineering team within the organisation focused on a bigger question: how can agents fundamentally change the way a company operates and how work gets done? You'll have the freedom and resources to experiment with the latest models, coding agents and tooling. However, the goal isn't experimentation for its own sake, they want the outcome and for the Applied AI Engineers to build agents and products that improve productivity and optimization for employees across the organisation.You will get the opportunity to develop the Software Factory for a company whose aim is the be one of the most innovative companies in the world!The RoleYou'll:Work directly with users to understand workflows, problems and opportunities for automationThink beyond the code – understanding the underlying domain, workflows and desired outcome before deciding what to buildDesign and build agents that perform meaningful, complex workExperiment extensively with different models, Agent SDKs and emerging LLM toolingBuild full-stack products and infrastructure around agentic workflowsDevelop evaluation and monitoring approaches to understand how agents are performingBuild tools and integrations that give agents access to the right systems, data and organisational knowledgeOperate with significant ownership over both the problem and the solutionThe PersonWe're looking for an exceptional product-minded engineer who is genuinely excited by where agentic software is heading.You'll ideally bring:Approximately 2–7 years' commercial software engineering experienceA strong academic background from a leading global universityExperience within a high-growth technology/startup environmentEvidence of building and shipping products & solutionsStrong full-stack engineering skills – TypeScript and/or Python would be particularly relevantMeaningful hands-on experience building AI agents or agentic products, either professionally or through substantial personal projectsExperience experimenting with different LLMs, agent frameworks, SDKs and AI development toolsA strong product mentality and willingness to work directly with usersHigh levels of autonomy and comfort tackling ambiguous, open-ended problemsYou may have been a Founding Engineer, early startup employee or someone who wants to build a company yourself one day. More important is the mentality: you're curious about the entire problem, not just the code required to solve one part of it.This is an onsite environment in Central Manhattan, five days per week and the pay is $200-300k depending on experience and with a good benefits package on top.
