AI Engineer | Industrial Control Systems

We’re looking for an AI Developer with a background in industrial automation and control systems to build AI-powered tools that help engineering teams analyze, understand, compare, and validate industrial control configurations. The ideal candidate combines software development skills in Python with knowledge of industrial control logic and an interest in applying LLMs to real-world industrial challenges.The roleYou’ll build AI tools that work on industrial control system configurations. You’ll use LLMs to read, explain, compare and validate control logic, and you’ll ship these tools as production services used by engineering teams.What you’ll doParse and structure control system configuration exports (XML and similar formats) so LLMs can reason over themBuild LLM-based tools that explain control logic, alarms and I/O, and that flag changes between configuration versionsGenerate technical documentation and checklists from control configurationsDevelop and deploy backend services in Python and FastAPI that integrate LLM APIsWork with controls engineers to validate outputs and capture their know-howTake part in client meetings to scope new use casesWhat we’re looking forMust haveBackground in industrial automation or control systems (DCS, PLC or machine control), from work experience or academic projects2+ years of software development experience, mainly in PythonGood understanding of control logic, sequencing, protections and I/OComfort working with XML and structured dataNice to haveExperience with FastAPI or other Python web frameworksHands-on use of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock), prompt engineering or RAGExperience with energy or power generation equipmentOther PLC/DCS platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, IEC 61131-3)Experience with Git, Docker and basic cloud deploymentWhat we offerA rare role at the intersection of controls engineering and generative AITraining and mentoring on the AI and software side from a senior teamReal production projects with enterprise clients
