AI Engineering Intern - Bali, Indonesia based

You'll work on real AI systems used across our portfolio companies, building agentic workflows that can plan, execute, use tools, evaluate outcomes, and self-correct.This is hands-on AI work. You'll be expected to prototype quickly, connect models to real systems, test what works, debug what doesn't, and help move useful AI workflows into production.Our group has spent thirty years building companies across New York, London, and Tokyo. Today, our teams operate from a 4,000 sqm campus in Canggu, Bali. Across the group, we have raised and deployed more than $150M and operate portfolio companies across energy, bioproduction, and AI infrastructure.Depending on team needs, current projects, and your interests, you may work across:Zero-XThermochemical conversion and distributed energy, with 200+ systems live across 11 countries.Seraph GroupDecentralized bioproduction combining AI, robotics, and synthetic biology on one platform.Gemino AIThe AI infrastructure layer supporting systems and workflows across the group.Your AI work may include:Designing and building AI agents and multi-agent workflowsIntegrating LLMs with APIs, databases, internal systems, and third-party toolsBuilding automation pipelines and backend services for real operational use casesDeveloping agent logic, tool use, memory, and workflow orchestrationTesting, debugging, and improving the reliability of AI systemsExperimenting with different models and technical approachesTurning prototypes into maintainable, production-ready systemsThe focus is not on academic exercises. You will work on AI connected to real companies, real users, and real engineering challenges.We're looking for candidates who:Have completed or are close to completing a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related technical fieldHave a solid understanding of AI, machine learning, software development, or LLM-based systemsHave hands-on experience with Python or a similar language, APIs, integrations, and technical systemsHave experience through university projects, internships, personal projects, or other practical AI workCan work independently, learn quickly, and solve technical problemsAre able to work fully on-site in Bali for 4-6 monthsThis internship can also be completed as part of a university internship requirement.We don't expect you to already know our full stack, but you should have a strong AI and software foundation.What we provide:4-6 month internship in Bali, Indonesia25-hour work week: 11 AM to 5 PMOn-campus rooms available at competitive ratesDaily lunch includedStrong interns can move into a full-time role across the group after the internshipInterested?Apply below and tell us about what you've built.
