If you're an AI developer who's fascinated by global diplomacy and the UN system, this internship is your chance to build tech solutions that impact international cooperation.What you'll doAI Development – Evals & RAG:Design, build, and maintain RAG pipelines that power our diplomatic workflow toolsCraft and maintain strong evaluation suites to measure and improve the accuracy, reliability, and safety of our AI featuresDevelop LLM-powered agentic systems to automate and streamline diplomatic processesBeta Testing & Product Refinement:Design and implement technical improvements to enhance product performance, using eval results and user feedback to guide iterationInnovation with Impact:Contribute to AI/ML integrations that automate diplomatic workflows and enhance data analysisBuild solutions that address real challenges in multilateral diplomacy and the UN systemWhat you bringTechnical skills:Proficiency in PythonExperience crafting strong evaluations, including offline suites and LLM-as-judge patternsExperience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), including chunking strategies, hybrid search, and rerankingExperience with vector databases (e.g. pgvector, Qdrant, Pinecone) and awareness of embedding-model tradeoffsA strong understanding of agentic workflows and designing tool/function-calling schemas for LLMsComfort working directly with provider SDKs and structured-output patterns (JSON schema, Pydantic)Awareness of production concerns: token cost, latency, caching, and LLM observability/tracingExperience with SQL/NoSQL databasesSoft skills:Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate feedback into solutionsAdaptability and autonomy in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiencesGood-to-haves:Experience with full-stack development (Python-based backends, plus a modern web framework such as React, Next.js, or SvelteKit)Familiarity with containerization, Docker, and KubernetesBroader interest in AI/ML concepts and frameworksKnowledge of international relations, diplomacy, or the UN systemFrench language skillsWhy this internship?Develop tech that matters - your work will directly impact global diplomacy and international cooperationGain exposure to the UN system and the world of international relationsWork in a collaborative startup environment with flexible work arrangementsMentorship from professionals blending tech, diplomacy, and entrepreneurshipTo apply: Send your CV, portfolio, and a brief cover letter to admin@diplotools.com before 23.09.2026.Duration: 3–6 months, starting late October.
