AI Product Engineer

A fast-scaling, product-led fintech platform is bringing in a contract AI Product Engineer to join their core product squad and build AI-native capability directly into the customer experience - think smart categorization, conversational support, risk/fraud signals surfaced in-product, or personalized financial insights. This is a builder role embedded in a product pod, not a research or back-office data science seat.Engagement: 12-Month Initial Contract (scope for extension/conversion) Location: Dubai, UAE (hybrid) Team: Product EngineeringYou'll be joining at a stage where the roadmap for AI-driven features is being defined, giving you real influence over what gets built and how it's shaped for users.What You'll OwnBuild and ship AI-driven features directly within the platform's product experience, working from concept through to live releasePartner daily with product managers and designers to translate financial use cases into working, user-facing AI functionalityIntegrate model outputs into real product flows, with attention to trust, explainability, and graceful handling of edge cases in a regulated financial contextContribute across the stack where needed, from API-level integration work through to the interfaces users actually touchBring pragmatic judgement on build vs. integrate decisions (in-house model logic vs. third-party AI/LLM providers)What You'll BringDemonstrable experience shipping AI or LLM-powered functionality as part of a live product, not solely internal tooling or POC workSolid full-stack or product-engineering background - comfortable moving between frontend, backend, and integration layersExposure to fintech, payments, or another regulated/data-sensitive product environment is a strong plus, though not mandatoryA collaborative style suited to working inside a product pod alongside PMs and designers, rather than a siloed specialist teamComfortable operating on a contract basis with clear deliverables and milestones across a 12-month engagementContract DetailsInitial term: 12 months, engaged directly or via EOR/umbrella structureBased in Dubai, UAEGenuine potential for extension or conversion based on roadmap and performanceThis is a hands-on build seat for someone who wants to see AI-driven features they've shipped used by real customers within a live financial product, not a platform team serving other teams' AI needs.
