About the JobRole DescriptionAn AI Research Manager leads and oversees artificial intelligence research initiatives, focusing on the development, evaluation, and practical application of advanced AI technologies. The role involves managing research projects, guiding AI researchers and technical teams, developing research strategies, evaluating emerging AI methods, and supporting the organization in applying innovative AI solutions to business and operational challenges.The position is suitable for candidates with experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, computer science, research, or related technical fields. Previous experience managing AI research projects or technical research teams is an advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage AI research projects from initial concept through research, development, evaluation, and implementation.Develop research strategies and identify emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in artificial intelligence.Manage and guide AI researchers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and other technical professionals.Define research objectives, priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes.Evaluate new AI models, algorithms, architectures, and research methodologies.Oversee the design, development, and testing of machine learning and artificial intelligence models.Support research into areas such as generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation.Review research findings, technical reports, experiments, and model performance results.Establish appropriate methodologies for evaluating AI models and research outcomes.Ensure research projects follow appropriate technical, ethical, security, and data governance standards.Collaborate with engineering, product, data, technology, and business teams to translate research findings into practical applications.Identify opportunities to improve existing AI systems, models, and processes.Monitor developments in AI research, academic publications, industry practices, and emerging technologies.Coordinate technical experiments, proof-of-concept projects, and prototype development.Support the selection and evaluation of AI tools, platforms, frameworks, and research resources.Manage research resources, project budgets, technical requirements, and delivery schedules when required.Establish documentation standards for research methodologies, experiments, datasets, models, and results.Present research findings, recommendations, and technical insights to senior management and relevant stakeholders.Work with external research institutions, technology partners, universities, or industry organizations when required.Promote responsible and explainable AI practices across research activities.Identify technical risks and research challenges and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.Support intellectual property development and research innovation initiatives where applicable.Ensure research activities comply with applicable organizational policies and relevant UAE requirements.Perform other AI research and management duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical or research discipline is an advantage.Previous experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, software engineering, or technical research.Previous experience managing AI research projects or technical teams is preferred.Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, AI methodologies, model development, and evaluation techniques.Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, or related AI technologies is an advantage.Experience with research methodologies, experimentation, data analysis, and technical documentation.Ability to evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine their potential business or technical applications.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.Ability to manage multiple research initiatives, priorities, and deadlines.Strong communication and presentation skills.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Familiarity with Python or other programming languages commonly used in AI and machine learning is an advantage.Experience with machine learning frameworks, cloud AI platforms, or data science tools is an advantage.Strong attention to research quality, accuracy, security, and ethical considerations.Relevant UAE professional or technical certification may be an advantage depending on the employer and scope of the role.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Opportunity to lead innovative AI research initiatives.Exposure to emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.Professional and collaborative technical environment.Opportunities to work on advanced AI projects and proof-of-concept initiatives.Career development opportunities within technology, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.Opportunities to collaborate with technical specialists and cross-functional teams.Employment benefits in accordance with UAE labour regulations.
