AI Researcher

About the RoleProvue is looking for a curious and highly analytical AI Researcher to work on challenging problems at the intersection of AI research, intelligent systems, and evaluation.This is a research-focused role for someone who enjoys understanding how AI systems learn, reason, and perform, and is excited by open-ended problems where the right answer isn't already known.You will work closely with technical teams to design experiments, explore new ideas, evaluate AI systems, and translate promising research into practical experiments and prototypes.What You'll DoConduct research on emerging AI techniques and intelligent systems.Formulate research questions, hypotheses, and experiments to investigate AI capabilities and limitations.Design rigorous evaluations to understand the performance, behaviour, and generalisation of AI systems.Read, analyse, and build upon relevant research papers and existing work.Run experiments, analyse results, and identify meaningful insights and patterns.Investigate failure modes, biases, limitations, and unexpected behaviours in AI systems.Develop research prototypes or implement ideas where required to validate hypotheses.Collaborate closely with engineering and technical teams to explore and test research ideas.Stay up to date with developments in AI research and contribute new ideas to the team.What We're Looking For1–4 years of experience in AI/ML research, applied research, or a related field.Strong fundamentals in machine learning and AI, with a good understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Experience designing and conducting experiments independently.Ability to read and understand technical research papers.Comfortable working with code and technical environments to run experiments and validate ideas.Strong curiosity and willingness to investigate problems where the solution may not be obvious.Ability to communicate research findings clearly and reason rigorously from evidence.Good to HaveExperience or strong interest in Reinforcement Learning, AI evaluation, LLMs, agents, or intelligent systems.Research publications, academic projects, open-source contributions, or other evidence of research work.Experience working with Python or common AI/ML research tools.Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
