We are driven by curiosity, technical excellence, and a shared ambition to build AI systems that make a tangible difference.We are looking for a AI Scientist, who will work with clients in the financial sector to design and develop forecasting and statistical modeling solutions, from problem framing and experimentation through to validation and production handover.In this role you will own the modeling approach within a project team, ensuring methods and evaluation meet the high standards typical in banking.This position can be based in Zurich or Lugano. You must be willing to work onsite at least 80% of the time. Candidates must be based in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Switzerland.About the RoleYour responsibilities will span the full lifecycle of forecasting and statistical modeling initiatives, from problem framing and experimentation through validation, production handover, and ongoing monitoring.Projects may involve time-series forecasting models, uncertainty quantification, backtesting frameworks, anomaly-detection systems, or agentic analytical pipelines built on statistical and machine-learning methods.You will own the modeling approach within project teams, collaborating with software engineering, infrastructure, and domain experts to integrate solutions into enterprise ecosystems and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.Qualifications and SkillsMaster's degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.5+ years of working experience as AI Scientist or in a similar role or PhDStrong background in time-series analysis and statistical modeling (forecasting, uncertainty quantification, backtesting).Strong programming skills (Python, SQL) and familiarity with ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).Experience validating models rigorously and communicating results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in English.Nice to HaveExperience in finance or other regulated industries.Familiarity with modern ML approaches to forecasting (gradient boosting, deep learning, foundation models).Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).We offerFull-time permanent contractCompetitive compensation and growth opportunitiesA stimulating scientific environment with an informal working atmosphereMentorship and continuous learning
