Apply & track with Apply EdgeDirector – AI Strategy & Investment Portfolio Enablement | UAEAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director – AI Strategy & Investment Portfolio Enablement to join a leading investment platform, working closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Investment team to shape and drive the organisation’s AI agenda.This is a business-focused AI strategy role, sitting at the intersection of investment, technology and business transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying where AI can create tangible value across the investment portfolio and within the Investment team itself.Key Responsibilities:Work closely with portfolio company management teams to identify opportunities where AI can reduce costs, improve productivity, save time and enhance business performance.Assess individual portfolio companies and identify where AI can be practically applied to address business pain points.Identify opportunities to use AI to develop new products, services and revenue streams across the portfolio.Build business cases around AI opportunities, assessing investment requirements, commercial potential, expected returns and risks.Advise the Investment team on how AI can improve areas such as due diligence, portfolio monitoring, reporting and investment workflows.Act as the key bridge between business and investment stakeholders and internal/external technology and data teams.Provide strategic oversight of AI initiatives and support portfolio companies in prioritising and adopting relevant solutions.Work with technology partners, consultants and vendors where specialist implementation support is required.Track the impact of AI initiatives and measure realised cost savings, productivity improvements and revenue opportunities.Advise senior stakeholders on emerging AI developments and their relevance across the portfolio.The Profile:We are looking for an experienced professional with approximately 10–12 years of experience, ideally from the Technology, Digital, AI or Business Transformation practice of a leading consulting firm, including Big 4: Have a strong understanding of AI and emerging technology, without necessarily being a pure technical implementation specialist.Be able to understand complex business and investment requirements and translate these into practical AI opportunities.Have experience advising senior business stakeholders on technology-led transformation and value creation.Understand how technology can be used to generate new revenues, reduce operating costs and improve capital efficiency.Be comfortable assessing businesses at a company-by-company level and identifying where AI can address specific operational or commercial pain points.Have strong commercial judgement and the ability to develop compelling business cases for AI initiatives.Be confident operating between investment, business and technology stakeholders.Have the seniority and interpersonal skills to influence portfolio company management teams and senior investment stakeholders.A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Technology is required, with an MBA or Master’s in Technology/AI advantageous.
