Location: London - Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)Employment: PermanentWe're recruiting an experienced, hands-on AI Tech Lead Developer to join a technology consultancy delivering enterprise-scale Generative and Agentic AI solutions for a major financial services client.This is an opportunity to lead a team of AI Developers, combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering to build secure, scalable AI applications within a complex enterprise environment.You'll work alongside experienced architects, platform engineers and development teams, helping shape the technical direction and delivery of production-ready AI solutions.The roleLeading a team of AI Developers delivering enterprise-grade Generative and Agentic AI solutionsDesigning and developing Python and Java services, APIs and AI componentsBuilding LLM integrations, RAG architectures and agent-based workflowsDeveloping prompt orchestration, output validation and AI evaluation capabilitiesWorking with AWS services including Bedrock, AgentCore, EKS, EC2, S3 and SQSDesigning CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practicesIntegrating AI services with enterprise security and observability frameworksCollaborating with architects and engineering teams to establish reusable patterns and engineering standardsProviding technical guidance, troubleshooting and performance optimisationWhat we're looking forYou'll have strong commercial software engineering experience, with hands-on Generative AI development expertise and experience leading technical teams.

We'd expect experience across a good mix of:Strong Python, Java and FastAPI development experienceGenerative AI, Agentic AI and Large Language ModelsRAG architectures, prompt orchestration and LLM integrationAWS cloud engineering, particularly Bedrock and AgentCoreCI/CD, DevOps and engineering automationRESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systemsTechnical leadership and mentoringExperience delivering secure, production-grade applicationsExperience with Terraform, GitOps, Kong API Gateway, vector search, SQL/NoSQL databases and AI evaluation tools such as Arize or Promptfoo would also be useful.Previous experience working within financial services, insurance or other regulated environments would be beneficial.What's on offerPermanent salary of £75,000 - £85,000London hybrid working - 3 days per week onsiteOpportunity to lead enterprise-scale AI developmentHands-on exposure to modern Generative and Agentic AI technologiesCollaboration with experienced AI engineers, architects and platform specialistsIdeally, you'll have 12+ years' commercial experience and be available immediately or within four weeks.This is a great opportunity for an experienced AI Tech Lead or Lead Developer who wants to remain technically hands-on while leading the delivery of enterprise-grade AI solutions.Interested?
