قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجCompany DescriptionUsing artificial intelligence and machine vision, we provide crews on boats and ships with the most accurate digital understanding of a vessel ‘s near-field surface surroundings. We make marine mobility safer and more convenient, providing a better mobility experience at sea. We are a multi-national team based in Austria, France, Portugal and the US. We offer a fast and agile workplace for experts from a variety of disciplines. We share a common culture shaped by ambition, autonomy, openness, honesty, and respect. As a fast-growing team of ~60 colleagues, we are large enough to create impact. We are also small enough that each team member has an influence on the way we work. For our office in Vienna we are looking for an AI Vision Engineer (m/w/d). The RoleOur systems run on embedded hardware on vessels worldwide, turning sensor data into the situational awareness and alerts crews rely on. You will be responsible for the quality of our perception stack: understanding what makes an alert trustworthy and improving every stage that contributes to it. Much of that is diagnosis: reading a weak result and knowing whether the fix sits in the data, in the model, an algorithm, or in the metrics. Our tools and processes permanently evolve and we need someone who can navigate them, make smart calls, and help us move faster without stopping the ship. What You'll DoMaintain and keep pushing the limits of our computer vision pipeline, composed of NNs, MOT, projective geometry, and sensor fusion.Turn “new data in, better model out” into something that happens almost on its own, so we can ship improvements more often.Work out where frontier models like VLMs can take us, from labeling to internal tools to product ideas, and take the promising ones past the demo stage.Raise the team's bar on computer vision by connecting new problems to past experience and established techniques.Own technical planning and delivery for multi-sprint initiatives: risk, dependencies, progress.Work closely with hardware, product, and AI colleagues, keeping the whole system in view. What You Bring5+ years of AI/CV work that made it past notebooks.Strong software engineering fundamentals: writing maintainable code, collaborating through code reviews, and leaving the codebase better than you found it.A track record of adapting proven open-source solutions to new domains instead of starting from scratch.Strong grounding in computer vision geometry: camera models, calibration, and multi-view geometry.Experience choosing the right computer vision architecture for the problem, from CNNs to transformers and foundation models.Experience getting models onto embedded or otherwise constrained hardware, within a real-time budget.Experience making ML reproducible through disciplined workflows, versioned data, and repeatable experiments.Fluent communication in English; other languages are a plus.Experience with sensor fusion (cameras, IMU, RADAR, ...), depth estimation, or perception systems for maritime, robotics, or autonomous vehicle applications is a plus. You'll Fit Well If You...You want the AI you build to do something useful in the world, not sit in a repo. You think about how you will measure success before writing the first line of code. You look at the data before blaming the model. You understand the mathematics behind machine learning well enough to know why something works. You are genuinely curious, form your own opinions, and back them with evidence. You speak up when something is broken, with constructive ideas you can defend. You dig for the real cause of a problem instead of patching the symptom. You ship pragmatically, knowing when "good enough" beats "perfect".You treat AI as part of your toolkit: building your own workflows while understanding where it helps and where it doesn't. What we offer Highly motivated, skilled, cooperative interdisciplinary and international team. Opportunity to travel to our other offices incl. testing new developments on the company boat. Flexible policy for working time and occasionally home office. Company-organized team building events including workshops, remote working in Europe, sailing trips and more. Subsidies for motorboat/sailing license.Minimum salary for this job is EUR 65.000,00 gross per year - according to your experience and education we are willing to pay more. Ready for the Challenge? We do look forward to receiving your complete application including earliest starting date. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome diversity. We encourage everyone to apply and will give everyone equal consideration.
