Head of Airfreight | HoustonOverview:My client is a leading international project logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Airfreight to lead and further develop its airfreight business in the Houston region.Key responsibilities:Lead and grow the regional airfreight business, including strategy, revenue and profitability.Manage the airfreight function and develop a high-performing team.Oversee complex shipments, including oversized cargo, special loads and charter operations.Drive new business, customer development and strategic partnerships with airlines and specialist providers.Own budgets, P&L, pricing, quotations and financial performance.Develop cross-border operations and optimise processes, quality and compliance.Work closely with sales, project logistics and international offices to support growth.Monitor market trends and develop innovative solutions for complex cargo requirements.Ideal background:Extensive international airfreight experience, ideally within project, heavy-lift or specialist logistics.Proven leadership and business-development experience.Strong commercial and P&L management capability.Expertise in complex airfreight, charters, oversized cargo and regulatory requirements.Strong customer, airline and stakeholder relationships.Experience building and leading teams.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Degree in logistics, supply chain, business or a related discipline preferred.
