Job Title: Air Systems & Propulsion Integration Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Relocation Opportunity)Department: Engineering – Propulsion SystemsReporting to: Propulsion Systems Leadership TeamJob Purpose:A leading aerospace and propulsion technology company based in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Air Systems & Propulsion Integration Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of air handling and fluid systems for advanced turbojet and turbofan engine programs.

This role is responsible for intake aerodynamics, exhaust nozzle design, fuel and lubrication systems, actuation hardware integration, and engine test support, ensuring robust and efficient propulsion system performance from development through validation.

Key Responsibilities

Intake System DesignDesign and optimize engine air intake systems for turbojet and turbofan applications.Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to evaluate airflow performance and efficiency.Ensure intake system compatibility with engine and platform configurations.Exhaust Nozzle DesignDesign and develop exhaust nozzle geometries for propulsion systems. Optimize nozzle performance to achieve thrust, efficiency, and backpressure requirements. Fluid & Actuation SystemsSelect and integrate pumps, solenoids, valves, and associated actuation hardware.Define and develop fuel system architectures and lubrication systems. Support system integration activities across propulsion platforms. Piping & Routing DesignDesign and route fuel, oil, and pneumatic line systems.Perform pressure drop calculations and system performance assessments. Ensure routing solutions meet packaging, performance, and maintainability requirements. Testing & Validation SupportSupport engine testing, troubleshooting, and development activities.Define instrumentation requirements and test methodologies. Analyze test data and correlate results against design predictions and performance models. Contribute to validation and continuous improvement of propulsion system designs.

Requirements

Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.5-8 years of relevant engineering experience. Strong understanding of compressible flow and thermodynamics. Experience with fuel and lubrication systems.Ability to support product development activities in a fast-paced engineering environment. Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. 5-8 years of experience in propulsion systems, air systems, fluid systems, or related aerospace engineering fields. Experience supporting the design, integration, testing, and validation of propulsion systems. Experience working on turbojet, turbofan, gas turbine, or related aerospace propulsion technologies is highly desirable. Key Skills:Expertise in compressible flow and thermodynamics. Proficiency with CFD tools, including ANSYS and Fluent. Experience using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.Strong understanding of fuel systems, lubrication systems, and fluid handling components. Ability to analyze test data and translate findings into engineering solutions. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience with turbojet or gas turbine engine programs. Experience working in engine test cell environments. Experience operating within a fast-paced product development environment. Relocation support to Abu Dhabi is available for exceptional international candidates.
