Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole DescriptionAn Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and supporting the airworthiness of aircraft and their systems. The role ensures aircraft are maintained according to approved technical procedures, safety standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable aviation regulations.Key responsibilities include:Perform scheduled, preventive, corrective, and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.Inspect aircraft structures, engines, landing gear, flight-control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, and avionics.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, avionics, and system-related faults.Perform component replacement, repairs, adjustments, testing, and functional checks.Review aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering instructions, service bulletins, technical publications, and approved maintenance data.Complete maintenance tasks in accordance with approved procedures and technical specifications.Conduct transit, daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and other required inspections where applicable.Support aircraft defect identification, troubleshooting, and rectification.Inspect aircraft following maintenance to verify correct installation, configuration, functionality, and system performance.Perform maintenance on engines, auxiliary power units, electrical systems, avionics, instruments, and aircraft accessories as applicable.Support aircraft modifications, upgrades, inspections, component changes, and technical improvement programs.Use specialized aircraft-maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, test equipment, and ground-support equipment.Maintain accurate aircraft technical records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, defect reports, and component documentation.Record completed maintenance tasks and ensure proper traceability of parts, components, tools, and work performed.Coordinate with pilots, flight operations, maintenance control, engineering, quality teams, suppliers, and approved maintenance organizations.Support aircraft recovery and troubleshooting during operational disruptions or technical events.Conduct tool control, equipment inspections, calibration checks, and workshop housekeeping.Verify that aircraft parts and materials meet applicable specifications, traceability, storage, and serviceability requirements.Support aircraft maintenance planning, hangar activities, line maintenance, and heavy-maintenance programs where applicable.Investigate recurring technical defects and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Contribute to aircraft reliability programs by identifying recurring failures, component trends, and maintenance issues.Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and organizational standards.Participate in safety investigations, risk assessments, quality audits, and maintenance compliance activities.Support electronic technical logs, aircraft health monitoring, predictive maintenance, maintenance data analytics, and digital maintenance systems.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.Follow procedures for aircraft safety, foreign-object-debris prevention, hazardous materials, tool control, and workplace safety.Provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and other engineering personnel where appropriate.Prepare technical reports, maintenance findings, inspection summaries, and engineering recommendations.Continuously improve aircraft reliability, maintenance efficiency, safety, compliance, and operational readiness.QualificationsBachelor's degree, diploma, or recognized technical qualification in Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline.Appropriate aircraft maintenance license or certification where required by the applicable aviation authority.Strong understanding of aircraft structures, propulsion, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionics systems.Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, engineering instructions, and maintenance documentation.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of aircraft inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and defect-rectification procedures.Strong understanding of aviation safety, airworthiness, quality assurance, human factors, and maintenance standards.Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards such as FAA, EASA, ICAO, or other applicable regulatory frameworks.Knowledge of aircraft maintenance software, electronic technical logs, maintenance tracking systems, and digital documentation platforms.Familiarity with aircraft health monitoring, predictive maintenance, data analytics, and emerging aviation technologies is advantageous.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and technical accuracy.Ability to work effectively with pilots, engineers, technicians, maintenance control, quality teams, suppliers, and aviation authorities.Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and technical-reporting skills.Ability to work effectively under operational pressure while following approved procedures.Strong understanding of tool control, parts traceability, FOD prevention, hazardous-material handling, and maintenance safety.High level of integrity, discipline, accountability, professionalism, and commitment to aircraft airworthiness and passenger safety.
