Role DescriptionAn Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and certifying aircraft systems and components to ensure aircraft remain safe, reliable, airworthy, and compliant with applicable aviation requirements. The role supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities across aircraft, engines, avionics, structures, and related systems.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled, unscheduled, preventive, and corrective aircraft maintenance.Inspect aircraft structures, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, flight controls, landing gear, and other components.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionics-related faults.Perform component removal, installation, repair, replacement, testing, and functional checks.Interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, technical publications, wiring diagrams, engineering instructions, and service bulletins.Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with approved procedures, technical documentation, and airworthiness requirements.Conduct aircraft inspections before and after maintenance activities.Complete maintenance records, work orders, technical logs, inspection reports, and defect documentation accurately.Verify that maintenance work has been completed correctly before aircraft release or return to service.Coordinate with maintenance planners, technicians, inspectors, engineers, flight crews, operations teams, and approved maintenance organizations.Investigate recurring defects and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Support aircraft modification, upgrade, retrofit, repair, and component replacement programs.Perform functional tests and operational checks following maintenance activities.Ensure tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials used for maintenance are properly controlled and serviceable.Maintain compliance with aircraft manufacturer requirements, approved maintenance programs, engineering orders, and applicable aviation regulations.Support airworthiness inspections, quality audits, safety investigations, and regulatory inspections.Identify potential safety hazards, technical discrepancies, and maintenance risks and report them appropriately.Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of aircraft components and hazardous materials.Maintain accurate records of aircraft defects, component changes, maintenance actions, and inspection results.Participate in aircraft recovery, troubleshooting, and technical support activities when required.Support reliability programs by analyzing technical defects, maintenance trends, component performance, and recurring failures.Utilize computerized maintenance-management systems, digital technical publications, aircraft health-monitoring systems, and maintenance data platforms.Maintain high standards of tool control, foreign-object-debris prevention, housekeeping, and workplace safety.Provide technical guidance and support to aircraft maintenance technicians and other maintenance personnel.Contribute to continuous improvement of aircraft reliability, maintenance efficiency, safety, and operational readiness.QualificationsDegree, diploma, or recognized technical qualification in Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline.Appropriate aircraft maintenance license or certification is advantageous and may be required depending on the role and regulatory authority.Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, engines, avionics, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and flight-control systems.Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, service bulletins, and engineering documentation.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills.Knowledge of aviation safety standards, airworthiness requirements, maintenance procedures, and quality-management systems.Familiarity with aircraft maintenance regulations and standards applicable to the operating environment.Understanding of aircraft maintenance planning, inspection procedures, component control, and technical records.Strong attention to detail and commitment to aviation safety and airworthiness.Ability to work effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, inspectors, pilots, operations personnel, and regulatory representatives.Familiarity with computerized maintenance-management systems and digital aviation technologies.Knowledge of aircraft health monitoring, reliability analysis, predictive maintenance, and maintenance data analytics is advantageous.Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and time-management skills.Ability to work under operational pressure while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.High level of professionalism, technical discipline, integrity, accountability, and commitment to aviation safety.
