Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Role DescriptionAn Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and certifying aircraft and aircraft components to ensure they remain safe, airworthy, reliable, and compliant with applicable aviation regulations and approved maintenance procedures. The role performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, identifies technical defects, coordinates corrective actions, maintains accurate maintenance records, and works closely with maintenance teams, engineers, technicians, flight operations, and regulatory authorities to support safe aircraft operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled, preventive, corrective, and unscheduled aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance programs and procedures.Inspect aircraft structures, systems, engines, components, and equipment to identify defects, damage, wear, or abnormal conditions.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, avionics, and other aircraft-system issues as applicable.Carry out maintenance, repair, replacement, adjustment, servicing, testing, and inspection of aircraft components and systems.Review aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering instructions, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, technical orders, and approved maintenance data.Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved technical documentation and regulatory requirements.Conduct pre-maintenance and post-maintenance inspections, functional tests, operational checks, and system verifications.Inspect aircraft engines, landing gear, flight controls, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other critical components where applicable.Identify technical defects and determine appropriate corrective actions in accordance with approved procedures.Assist with aircraft defect investigation, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and technical problem resolution.Coordinate with aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, inspectors, pilots, flight operations, engineering departments, and other stakeholders.Support aircraft recovery, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities during operational disruptions or technical incidents.Verify the proper installation, condition, functionality, and certification status of aircraft components and parts.Ensure tools, equipment, ground-support equipment, and maintenance facilities are properly controlled, calibrated, and maintained.Maintain accurate aircraft technical records, maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, component records, and certification documentation.Complete maintenance documentation accurately and ensure traceability of all maintenance actions and replaced components.Review and comply with aircraft configuration requirements, minimum equipment requirements, approved modifications, and technical limitations.Monitor component life limits, inspection intervals, maintenance schedules, and aircraft technical status.Support aircraft modifications, upgrades, component replacements, inspections, and reliability-improvement programs.Participate in aircraft maintenance planning, turnaround activities, hangar operations, and line-maintenance support.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable ICAO, EASA, FAA, GCAA, or other relevant aviation regulations and organizational procedures.Participate in safety investigations, maintenance error-prevention programs, reliability analysis, and corrective-action activities where required.Report safety hazards, technical defects, maintenance discrepancies, and potential airworthiness concerns promptly.Maintain a strong focus on aviation safety, human factors, foreign-object-debris prevention, tool control, and workplace safety.Participate in audits, regulatory inspections, quality-assurance reviews, and compliance activities.Maintain current knowledge of aircraft technologies, maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements, technical publications, and industry developments.Support continuous improvement of aircraft reliability, maintenance quality, airworthiness, technical compliance, operational safety, and maintenance efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field.Appropriate aircraft maintenance license or authorization such as GCAA, EASA Part-66, FAA A&P, or equivalent certification is advantageous or required depending on the position and jurisdiction.Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, airline maintenance, MRO, aviation engineering, or a related aviation environment is preferred.Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, engines, avionics, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.Good understanding of aircraft airworthiness requirements, maintenance regulations, safety standards, and approved maintenance practices.Familiarity with aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical publications.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when performing inspections, repairs, testing, and maintenance documentation.Strong understanding of aviation safety, human factors, quality assurance, and maintenance best practices.Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, engineering instructions, and aircraft documentation.Familiarity with computerized maintenance-management systems (CMMS), aircraft maintenance systems, electronic technical logbooks, or similar platforms is advantageous.Strong communication, teamwork, coordination, and reporting skills.Ability to work effectively under time pressure while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.Ability to work flexible schedules, including shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays,
