Apply & track with Apply EdgeQualified Mission Aircrew InstructorLocation: CornwallPermanent | Full-time | Monday–FridayWe are looking for experienced military mission aircrew to join an our aviation client based in Cornwall, supporting the delivery and development of advanced training for the next generation of military aircrew.This is a varied role combining instruction, mission systems expertise, training development and technical input. You will initially contribute to the development and testing of new training solutions before moving into an instructor position delivering high-quality synthetic and classroom-based training.The role would suit an experienced military aircrew professional who enjoys developing others, working with advanced training technologies and contributing their operational expertise to the continual improvement of a complex aviation training environment.The RoleInitially, you will work alongside training development and technical teams, using your operational experience and specialist knowledge to help develop advanced courseware, training solutions and high-fidelity simulation exercises.You will contribute to the introduction and transition of new training systems, equipment and courseware, providing specialist advice and helping ensure that training solutions accurately reflect the requirements of operational users.As the programme develops, you will become part of an experienced mission aircrew instructor team based in Cornwall, delivering a range of specialist training to military personnel.Your responsibilities will include:Delivering high-quality synthetic and classroom-based instruction.Providing specialist instruction within your area of mission aircrew expertise.Supporting the development, testing and continual improvement of training courses and courseware.Using operational experience to provide technical and subject-matter expertise to training development teams.Supporting the introduction and transition to new training systems and equipment.Developing and maintaining instructor and trainee training materials.Mentoring trainees and supporting them in achieving the required standard within the appropriate timescales.Working closely with military customers, instructors, training specialists and internal technical and courseware teams.Providing technical input into the development of training solutions and simulation exercises.Supporting continuous improvement across the wider training service.Building effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.Contributing to wider organisational initiatives where required.The role offers considerable variety, with opportunities to work across training development, technical activities, simulation and live training environments.What We're Looking ForYou will have a strong military aviation background and significant experience operating as mission aircrew in an operational environment.We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in mission aircrew instruction, such as Weapon Systems Officer or Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance roles, or an equivalent military instructional background.You should have:Previous experience as operational/Combat-Ready Mission Aircrew.Previous military experience as a qualified mission aircrew instructor or equivalent.A strong understanding of military aviation training and instructional practices.Experience operating complex mission systems and/or sensors.Experience delivering training, instruction or mentoring to military personnel.The ability to translate operational experience into effective training solutions.Strong communication and presentation skills.The ability to work effectively with military, technical and civilian stakeholders.A collaborative approach and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Strong judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills.A genuine interest in developing people and improving training outcomes.An appropriate recognised military instructional qualification/category, such as CFS B1 or higher, would be highly advantageous.Why This Role?This is an opportunity to move beyond purely operational flying and use your experience to influence how the next generation of military aircrew are trained.You will be working with advanced synthetic training technology, contributing to the development of new training solutions and playing a key role in preparing personnel for operational environments.The role also provides the opportunity to work across training design, development, testing, simulation and instruction, rather than being limited to a single instructional function.Location & Working PatternCornwall - Full-time, Monday to Friday, with a stable working pattern.(There may also be opportunities for some home working and travel associated with training development and programme activities.)SecurityDue to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
