Our reputation is built on operational excellence, exceptional customer service and the people who make it happen every day.We're now looking for an Export Airfreight Coordinator to join our growing Heathrow Airfreight team.If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy managing shipments from start to finish, and take pride in delivering a first-class customer experience, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingAs an Export Airfreight Coordinator, you will take ownership of international airfreight shipments, ensuring they move efficiently and accurately from collection through to final delivery.Your responsibilities will include:Managing export airfreight shipments from start to finishCoordinating collections, airline bookings and transportation arrangementsCreating airwaybills and export documentationIssuing pre-alerts and communicating with overseas offices and agentsTracking shipments and providing proactive updates to customersBuilding strong relationships with airlines, carriers, agents and suppliersEnsuring all costs, revenue and shipment data are accurately entered into the operating systemMaintaining customer SOPs and ensuring customer-specific requirements are metSupporting the delivery of excellent service levels and operational performanceIdentifying and resolving issues quickly to keep shipments moving smoothlyWhat We're Looking ForWe're interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within airfreight forwarding and enjoy taking ownership of the customer journey.You'll ideally have:Previous experience within Export Airfreight OperationsStrong knowledge of export customs, documentation and airline processesExperience managing shipments from booking through to final deliveryConfidence communicating with customers, overseas agents and suppliersExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong commercial awareness and numerical accuracyExperience using freight forwarding systems such as CargoWise (desirable)The ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlinesA proactive and solution-focused approachA positive attitude and genuine team spiritWhy Join Metro?Metro is one of the UK's leading independent freight forwarders, supporting customers across air, ocean, road and warehousing solutions.
