Airport Area Project Manager - Remote

Aviation Search Group has partnered with an internationally known airport service-provider to identify their next Airport Area Project Manager! This position is Remote and the assigned region is the Eastern portion of the US.The Airport Area Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of complex capital improvement, infrastructure, technology, and facility projects across an assigned geographic territory.Reporting to the Director of Projects, this position manages projects from initial assessment and scope development through design, permitting, construction, installation, commissioning, and final closeout.The Airport Area Project Manager serves as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The position is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable regulatory, operational, and contractual requirements.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesProvide functional leadership and project oversight to field personnel, and other resources supporting project execution within the assigned territory.Manage multiple capital improvement and infrastructure projects from initial assessment and scope development through design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and closeout.Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, bid packages, procurement requirements, and field implementation plans.Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, consultants, vendors, and client representatives throughout project execution.Coordinate site access, permitting, work scheduling, safety requirements, operational restrictions, and other site-specific compliance requirements.Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, schedule performance, safety, and budget compliance.Review contractor documentation, drawings, specifications, submittals, proposals, invoices, change orders, payment applications, and other project documentation.Coordinate equipment and material delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and warranty turnover.Identify project risks, schedule impacts, cost exposures, operational conflicts, and other issues and develop appropriate corrective actions.Escalate significant project risks, delays, cost exposures, and operational issues to the Director of Projects.Maintain complete and accurate project records and provide regular project status reports to leadership.Coordinate multiple projects and locations simultaneously while maintaining effective communication among internal and external stakeholders.Support procurement, contractor selection, bid evaluation, negotiations, and project transition activities as required.Ensure projects comply with applicable contractual obligations, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and established company procedures.Promote consistent project-management practices, field execution standards, and accountability across assigned locations.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesComprehensive knowledge of construction management, engineering documents, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contractor submittals.Strong knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, budgeting, procurement, invoice management, and change-order administration.Working knowledge of permitting, site-access requirements, safety procedures, operational restrictions, and construction coordination.General knowledge of digital display systems, audiovisual equipment, electrical infrastructure, data networks, communications systems, and structural supports.Advanced ability to manage multiple complex capital projects, budgets, schedules, contractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholder groups simultaneously.Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with project-management, scheduling, document-control, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace applications.Ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, engineers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel.Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation and identify potential field issues and risks.Ability to establish productive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal operations teams.Ability to lead project teams and contractors with accountability, transparency, and sound judgment.Ability to implement consistent project controls, field practices, and execution standards across multiple locations.Ability to negotiate vendor agreements, change orders, technical scopes, and project requirements with contractors and suppliers.Education and ExperienceRequiredBachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, business, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related professional experience may be considered.7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in construction, engineering, capital development, project management, technology installation, or a related field.Direct experience managing construction, infrastructure, technology, or facility projects within complex commercial, institutional, transportation, government, or similarly regulated environments.Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar capital projects across multiple locations from planning through commissioning and closeout.Experience developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, bid packages, procurement activities, and multidisciplinary contractor teams.PreferredPMP, CCM, PE, registered architect, or comparable professional certification.Experience with complex infrastructure, technology, electrical, audiovisual, digital display, communications, or facility installations.Experience supporting competitive procurements, RFPs, facility improvement programs, renovations, or similar capital-development initiatives.Experience working with public-sector, government, transportation, institutional, or other highly regulated clients.Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, contractors, and local vendors across geographically dispersed projects.
