Applicants can expect a dynamic campus culture within a global city known for innovation and cultural diversity.Role Description We seek outstanding candidates whose work will advance the next generation of therapies for heart failure and cardiac injury, broadly defined. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, heart regeneration, revascularization, fibrosis and remodeling, cardiac immunobiology, gene and RNA therapeutics, disease modeling and pathogenesis, and drug discovery. We are particularly interested in investigators whose approaches complement and extend ongoing efforts in cardiomyocyte-based therapies, including those focused on tissue microenvironment, immune interactions, vascularization, and mechanisms of durable functional integration.All ranks tenure-track faculty positions at USC are full-time, on-site roles based in Los Angeles, CA. Faculty in these positions are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and seek external funding where appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, mentoring students, supervising independent study and research projects, and contributing to curriculum development. Faculty also participate in departmental and university service, such as committee work, academic governance, and community or professional engagement. Collaboration with colleagues across disciplines and engagement in the broader scholarly community is encouraged to advance USC’s mission in research, teaching, and service.QualificationsAppropriate terminal degree (e.g., PhD or equivalent) in a relevant academic discipline from an accredited institution.Evidence of research excellence or strong potential, including publications, presentations, or a clearly articulated research agenda.Demonstrated ability or potential to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse academic community.Commitment to mentoring students, supporting their academic and professional development, and fostering an equitable learning environment.Interest in contributing to departmental and university service, and engaging with professional societies or community partners.Experience in interdisciplinary work, applied research, or industry collaboration is beneficial.For senior ranks, a record of sustained scholarly impact, leadership in the field, and success in securing external research funding is advantageous.
