We are looking for a candidate for packaging to support the procurement of packaging materials for the business by ensuring timely sourcing, cost optimization, quality compliance, and uninterrupted supply of laminates and corrugated cartons. The role requires strong technical knowledge of flexible packaging and corrugated packaging, effective supplier coordination, commercial acumen, and advanced analytical capabilities using MS Excel.Key ResponsibilitiesSource and procure packaging materials, primarily: -Flexible Laminates (multi-layer printed and non-printed structures) - Corrugated Cartons / Shipper BoxesPossess a sound technical understanding of laminate structures, barrier requirements, GSM, film combinations, printing processes, adhesives, and packaging specifications.Understand corrugated packaging concepts including flute profiles, bursting strength (BS), edge crush test (ECT), deckle optimization, paper combinations, GSM, and box design.Coordinate with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging Development, and Suppliers to ensure timely material availability.Execute RFQs, price negotiations, commercial evaluations, and supplier finalization.Track commodity price movements and prepare cost analyses to identify savings opportunities.Develop cost models and perform should-cost analysis for packaging materials.Prepare MIS reports, procurement dashboards, spend analysis, and supplier performance reports using MS Excel.Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS) parameters.Support new product launches through timely packaging material sourcing and supplier coordination.Drive continuous cost optimization through specification rationalization, alternate sourcing, and value engineering initiatives.Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and food safety requirements.Technical Skills:Strong understanding of flexible packaging laminates (PET, BOPP, MET PET, PE, CPP, etc.).Good knowledge of corrugated packaging, paper grades, flute types, box compression strength, and packaging optimization.Knowledge of gravure/flexographic printing and packaging conversion processes.Understanding of packaging specifications, artwork, and quality parameters.Behavioural Skills:Strong negotiation and commercial aptitude.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced FMCG environment and manage multiple priorities.High level of ownership and execution focus.Educational QualificationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Technology, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations will be an added advantage.Experience4–7 years of relevant experience in packaging procurement within the FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Consumer Goods industry.Hands-on experience in sourcing flexible laminates and corrugated cartons is essential.Preferred IndustryFMCG, Foods & Beverages, Snacks, Biscuits, Confectionery, Dairy, Personal Care, or Consumer Goods.About the organization:DFM Foods, established in 1984, is a leading manufacturer of packaged snacks in India.
