This is an opportunity to shape how millions of customers and partners across Saudi Arabia understand and experience the future of escrow payments.Role Details:Location: Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaEmployment type: Full-time OnsiteRole Overview: The AML/CTF Compliance Officer will lead and independently oversee WePay’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework. The role will ensure that our policies, controls, monitoring activities, and regulatory reporting remain proportionate to the nature, scale, and risk profile of the business as WePay grows.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a risk based AML/CTF program aligned with applicable laws and SAMA requirements.Continuously review internal policies, procedures, and controls, monitor their implementation, and recommend improvements.Oversee customer and transaction monitoring to identify unusual or potentially suspicious activities.Receive and investigate suspicious transaction reports, analyse relevant information, and document findings.Report suspicious transactions to the Saudi Financial Intelligence Unit and prepare the required technical reports.Manage reporting related to applicable United Nations Security Council and national sanctions lists.Conduct periodic compliance reviews across relevant departments and document findings and corrective actions.Prepare Board reports covering AML/CTF activities, risks, challenges, and recommendations.Prepare and approve AML/CTF questionnaires, data collection forms, and regulatory submissions to SAMA.Participate in AML/CTF committees and work with internal teams to strengthen compliance across WePay.Preferred qualifications:Saudi national, as required by SAMA.2 to 3 years of AML/CTF experience in fintech, payments, banking, or another regulated financial institution.Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.Strong knowledge of Saudi AML/CTF regulations, SAMA requirements, sanctions screening, and suspicious transaction reporting.Experience in transaction monitoring, investigations, risk assessments, policy development, and Board reporting.CAMS or an equivalent certification is an advantage.Strong analytical, communication, and report writing skills in Arabic and English.High integrity, sound judgement, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a growing startup.Why join WePay?Build from the beginning.
