This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing higher-risk activity, ensuring investigative quality, mentoring junior analysts, and helping strengthen an organization's AML compliance program.What You'll DoInvestigate complex or escalated AML and sanctions cases, analyze customer activity, and determine appropriate case outcomes.Review work completed by junior investigators to ensure investigative quality, regulatory compliance, and thorough documentation.Prepare and recommend Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), including drafting clear and well-supported narratives.Evaluate transaction activity through both automated alerts and manual reviews to identify potential financial crime risks.Assess customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), KYC documentation, and onboarding reviews, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective action.Provide guidance and coaching to investigators on case handling, financial crime typologies, and regulatory expectations.Identify opportunities to improve investigative procedures, quality standards, and internal controls.Perform regulatory screening responsibilities, including required government information requests and related escalations.Review higher-risk banking relationships, including correspondent banking activity, for potential AML concerns.Assist with regulatory examinations, internal audits, and compliance reviews by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline is preferred.Approximately 4-6 years of experience in AML, BSA, sanctions, or financial crimes compliance within a banking or financial services environment.Strong background conducting complex investigations and making risk-based case disposition decisions.Hands-on experience reviewing investigative work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to policy.Demonstrated expertise drafting, reviewing, and recommending Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).Knowledge of correspondent banking AML risks and regulatory expectations.Professional AML certification (such as CAMS) is preferred.
