About Luminous RoboticsLuminous Robotics builds LUMI, a robot that installs solar panels on utility-scale solar farms. LUMI lifts and places modules alongside field crews, so projects get built faster, safer and with fewer people working at height and in heat. Our fleet is working on live projects for EPCs and developers in the United States and Australia. We sell installation as Robotics-as-a-Service: we own the robots and customers pay for the work they do. That model makes our capital structure part of the product. We fund the company with venture equity, fund the robot fleet with asset-backed and project-style financing, and use non-dilutive government grants to build manufacturing capacity. We are now raising our Series A alongside a dedicated fleet-financing vehicle, and we are building the finance team to run that process and the ones that follow. The roleYou will be the day-to-day owner of how Luminous plans, forecasts and measures itself. That means the operating plan, the cash forecast, and the robot-level economics that tell us whether a deployment made money. Your numbers feed the board, our investors and lenders, and the decisions we make about where to send the fleet next. As one of the first finance hires, you will work directly with the CEO and help build the processes, not just inherit them. What you will doPlanning and forecasting· Build and maintain the annual operating plan and a rolling forecast of revenue, COGS, operating expenses and headcount.· Maintain the 13-week cash forecast and longer-range runway model, covering equity, debt, lease and grant inflows.· Prepare monthly budget-versus-actual analysis with department leads and explain the variances.Unit and deployment economics· Track profitability per site, per robot and per customer: revenue against mobilization, crew, freight and maintenance cost.· Model pricing for new projects ($/W and $/panel), and test it against throughput and utilization assumptions.· Build the robot cost roadmap with manufacturing and supply chain: bill of materials, build cost and cost-down targets.Capital and reporting· Produce monthly management reporting and KPI dashboards for the CEO and board.· Maintain the numbers behind investor and lender reporting, including debt covenant and lease reporting.· Track grant budgets, milestones and claims against our government funding agreements.· Partner with the Capital Markets team so the corporate model and the operating plan always agree.Systems and process· Help set up the planning calendar, reporting cadence and controls for a company scaling across the US and Australia.· Work with our outside accountants on the monthly close, multi-currency (USD/AUD) reporting and audit readiness.· Help choose and implement tools as we outgrow spreadsheets. What you bring· 1–3 years (Analyst) or 3–5 years (Associate) in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting or audit, ideally with exposure to a hardware, energy, industrial or infrastructure company.· Strong Excel modeling: driver-based forecasts, scenario analysis and cash-flow modeling.· Solid accounting foundation: you read a P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statement fluently and understand accruals, capitalized assets and leases.· You can explain the numbers to engineers, field operators and investors in plain language.· Comfortable with ambiguity and building from a blank page at an early-stage company.· Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or engineering; CPA or CFA is a plus.Nice to have· Experience with capital-intensive or asset-heavy models: equipment leasing, Robotics- or Hardware-as-a-Service, or project-based businesses such as construction or EPC.· Exposure to manufacturing cost accounting, inventory and BOM management.· Experience with government grant accounting or multi-entity, multi-currency reporting.· Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar, and modern planning tools. Why this role· Join the finance team early at a company deploying robots on real solar projects today.· Help build the planning function from scratch and grow with it as the company scales.· Your forecasts drive fleet, hiring and fundraising decisions directly.
