As we continue investing in technology, merchandising, and customer experience, we're looking for leaders who are energized by solving complex business problems, influencing enterprise strategy, and driving measurable commercial impact.The Analyst of Strategic Finance (FP&A) will support the Director of Strategic Finance (FP&A) in driving Blue Nile's strategic and financial vision. This role serves as a key business partner to the Operations and Merchandising teams, working cross-functionally to provide valuable insights that enhance strategic decision-making. Collaborating closely with Operations leadership, including the COO, this individual will help optimize margin drivers, improve cost structures, and advance business performance. Additionally, the role will support scenario modeling for promotions and product launches while driving automation initiatives to enhance reporting, production, and operational efficiency.Responsibilities:Analyze financial performance against plans and forecasts, identifying gaps and providing actionable insightsDevelop and enhance financial models, processes, and reporting to support evolving planning requirementsOversee key aspects of various functional budgets, including Operations, Merchandising, and Technology tracking actual costs versus forecasts and proactively flagging deviations, presenting findings to key stakeholdersAssess both quantitative and qualitative performance metrics for key leadership teams, delivering streamlined reports with actionable commentaryDrive topline growth initiatives to help drive commercial capabilities, alongside cost efficiency initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings and monitoring the impact of cost optimization effortsPrepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders, including the Blue Nile Leadership Team, providing in-depth performance analysisSupport data transformation initiatives, including data management, reporting improvements, and detailed report generation for analysisSupport ad hoc projects as neededRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, or any Technical Field1-3 years of experience in advisory/consulting, or investment banking, FP&A, strategy, or a technical field (i.e engineering, analytics, etc) with a strong analytical and data-driven approachProficiency in analysis, systems and data tools for organizing and deploying financial insightsStrong financial and business acumen with the ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful recommendationsExperience working with large datasets, ensuring accuracy and insightful analysisAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel, with strong skills in MS Word and PowerPointExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organizationPreferred Qualifications:Experience with SAP, PowerBI, or TableauKnowledge of SQL/Python is a plusBackground in Retail/CPG IndustryExperience supporting finance functionsBenefitsAt Blue Nile, many of our roles offer a high-quality, comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, paid time off, retirement planning and opportunities for career advancement.
