The newsroom covers political developments, civic and administrative updates, and day-to-day issues affecting local communities, alongside key national news. Operating as a full digital newsroom, TheHoHalla brings together field reporters, anchors, web writers, video editors, and graphic designers to publish across its website and social channels — YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.About the RoleTheHoHalla is hiring a full-time, on-site Anchor based in Lucknow. The Anchor will be the on-camera face of the newsroom — presenting news bulletins and shows in Hindi, leading live and recorded segments, and hosting on-camera interviews and discussions. We're looking for someone presentable and soft-spoken, with a genuine passion for journalism and the drive to take on challenging, fast-moving assignments — not just reading a script, but out finding ground stories and public opinion, and building the connections that bring in new leads.Key ResponsibilitiesNews Presentation & AnchoringPresent daily news bulletins and shows in Hindi with clarity and confidence.Conduct live and recorded on-camera segments across multiple formats.Lead interviews and discussions with guests, experts, and newsmakers.Adapt tone and delivery across breaking news, feature stories, and analysis.Ground Reporting , Public Opinion & PodcastCreate original ground-level stories, beyond studio-based bulletins.Conduct public opinion (vox-pop) segments, capturing and presenting on-ground public sentiment.Use personal connections and networking to source leads, guests, and story angles.Editorial CollaborationWrite and refine own scripts for bulletins, segments, and interviews.Work with reporters and editors to plan daily news rundowns.Review scripts for clarity, accuracy, and on-air flow before broadcast.Coordinate with the bureau and ground-reporting team on story angles and updates.Breaking News & Live CoverageRespond quickly and accurately to breaking news with timely on-air coverage.Handle live broadcasts under time pressure while maintaining composure and accuracy.Take ownership of challenging, fast-turnaround assignments as they arise.Multi-Platform DeliveryTailor delivery and framing for the website, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.Work with the digital and production teams to ensure content is engaging and platform-appropriate.Required Skills & QualificationsCommunication & On-CameraPresentable, soft-spoken, and confident on camera.Very good communication skills in both Hindi and English — Hindi is mandatory.Strong script-writing ability.Journalism & EditorialStrong reporting and news-writing skills, to support accurate, ground-level coverage and compelling storytelling.Broadcast journalism experience, including familiarity with newsroom workflows, ethical standards, and digital news formats.Genuine passion for journalism, with the drive to take on challenging assignments.Networking & Digital SavvyGood connect and networking ability, for sourcing guests, leads, and stories.Working knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn.Podcast hosting or interview experience.Mindset & AvailabilityEntrepreneurial mindset, with a strong sense of ownership over their beat and output.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when news demands.Educational QualificationMaster's degree in Journalism recommended.Skills are mandatory, not the degree alone — strong on-air ability and relevant experience will be considered in place of a specific qualification.Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field preferred.Preferred BackgroundPrior experience as an anchor, reporter, or broadcast journalist — digital or television news preferred.Familiarity with the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand news landscape.Experience adapting on-air content for digital/social formats (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X).Why Join TheHoHalla?Be the on-camera voice of a fast-growing, hyperlocal Hindi news platform covering Lucknow, Kanpur, and all of UP and Uttarakhand.Work inside a complete digital newsroom — alongside field reporters, anchors, web writers, video editors, and graphic designers.Build a genuine multi-platform presence, with your work reaching audiences on the website, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn.Real room to grow — upwards and onwards — as the platform's digital and social presence expands.Email Your Resume :- info@thehohalla.com
