The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualising and executing clear, quality code to develop the best software. You will test your code, identify errors, and iterate to ensure quality code. You will also support our customers and partners by troubleshooting any of their software issues.  ResponsibilitiesDetect and troubleshoot software issuesWrite clear, quality code for software and applications and perform test reviewsDevelop, implement, and test APIsProvide input on software development projectsDesigning and building functional and intuitive mobile applications for the Android platformTranslating project designs and wireframes into high-quality codeWriting clean and efficient code for Android mobile applicationsCollaborating with senior Android developers, user experience (UX) designers and software engineers to work on different layers of the mobile app infrastructure, defining application requirements and design featuresParticipating in client meetings to understand user interface (UI)/UX requirementsWorking with multiple data sources and third-party application programming interfaces (APIs)Testing and editing code for robustness, reliability and securityMonitoring the live performance of apps to improve quality, responsiveness and end-UXHelping maintain the code quality of the organisationIdentifying and eliminating bottlenecks that impact application performancePerforming unit and instrumentation tests to identify and remove bugsEvaluating the performance of existing apps and implementing new technologies to improve efficiencyLiaising with the marketing department to ensure consistency in the brand's voice across applicationsCreating app updates and releasing them periodicallyStaying current with the latest mobile application trends, protocols and advancementsQualificationsComfort using programming languages and relational databasesStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills3+ years of development experienceBachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or other related fieldsPrior experience as a mobile app developerProficiency in programming languages such as C++, Kotlin, Java or PythonFamiliarity with the components of the Android Studio, including the ability to handle Android software development kitsKeen understanding of business requirements and the ability to translate them into high-performance applicationsWorking knowledge of mobile application development life cycle, architectures, technologies and emerging trendsPrior experience working with external data sources, APIs, third-party libraries, JSON and RESTFul technologiesStrong understanding of mobile application design principles and app publishing guidelinesExcellent interpersonal skills, such as teamwork, collaboration, written and oral communication and presentation proficienciesDedicated work ethic, including organisation, time management and the ability to work independently and as a team
