About the Product:AxePower is a software organization focused on building modern tools for PC management, optimization, monitoring, and control. Our goal is to make PC management simpler by bringing commonly used controls and utilities together into a unified experience. Alongside the Windows application, we are developing the AxePower Android Companion App, allowing users to interact with and manage their PC from their Android device. Founded in 2026, AxePower is an early-stage product focused on building practical software with a strong emphasis on performance, usability, and a modern user experience.Job Description:We are looking for an Android Companion App Developer to design, develop, and maintain the Android application that works alongside the AxePower PC application. You will be involved in building the mobile experience from the ground up, including UI development, real-time communication with the PC application, API integration, performance optimization, testing, and security. The role involves close collaboration with the product and development team to design and implement features that connect Android devices with Windows PCs.Key Responsibility:Develop and maintain the AxePower Android Companion App.Build modern Android interfaces using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.Implement real-time communication between Android and the AxePower PC application using WebSockets.Integrate REST APIs and backend services where required.Implement Android-to-PC communication over Wi-Fi/local networks.Work with ADB for supported Android functionality.Develop features for PC monitoring and remote control.Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Debug issues and participate in testing and code reviews.Contribute to UI/UX improvements and maintain consistency with the AxePower design system.Follow Android security and development best practices.Collaborate with the team on architecture, feature planning, and product improvements.Qualification:Strong programming skills with Kotlin and Android development.Experience building Android applications using Jetpack Compose or modern Android UI frameworks.Good understanding of Android SDK, Android application architecture, and lifecycle.Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and backend services.Understanding of real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets.Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, Git, and GitHub.Understanding of local data persistence such as Room, SQLite, or similar technologies.Knowledge of Android networking and local/Wi-Fi communication.Good understanding of debugging, testing, and performance optimization.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a development team.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Nice to have:Experience with ADB.Experience building PC companion or remote-control applications.Experience with Android-to-Windows communication.Experience with WebSockets or other real-time protocols.Familiarity with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or local network protocols.Experience with Material 3.Experience contributing to open-source projects.Interest in PC hardware, system utilities, or PC optimization software.Why join the AxePower?Work on a real product from an early stage.Build the Android companion experience from the ground up.Work with modern Android technologies including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.Solve interesting problems involving Android ↔ Windows communication.Have direct influence on product features and technical decisions.Work closely with the product and engineering team.Opportunity to contribute to an evolving software platform.
