This is a hands-on role for a strong Kotlin engineer who wants real ownership, including the location and background services that keep rides working across a wide range of devices.The roleWe are looking for an Android Developer to own the quality of the Customer and Driver Android apps. You will build features from requirements and designs, keep driver location and background services reliable, handle the wide range of Android devices and versions, and manage releases through Google Play. You take full ownership of the Android apps.What you will ownBuild and maintain the Customer and Driver Android apps.Develop new features based on requirements and designs.Maintain driver location, background services and notifications.Improve app speed, stability and user experience.Handle different Android versions and device behaviours.Fix crashes, ANRs and production issues.Test features before passing them to QA.Manage releases and production updates through Google Play.Work closely with Backend, QA and Product.Take full ownership of Android app quality.What success looks likeDriver location and background services stay reliable across devices.The apps are fast and stable across Android versions.Crashes, ANRs and production issues are rare and fixed quickly.Features ship on time and match the product and design intent.Releases go out smoothly through Google Play.The right person will bring:Strong Kotlin experience.Native Android development.Experience with XML layouts and Jetpack Compose.API integration.Push notifications.Background services and location tracking.A strong understanding of the Android app lifecycle.Performance optimisation and crash debugging.Experience publishing apps through Google Play.Unit and UI testing.Experience with real-time location, quick-commerce apps or ride-hailing apps, and keeping background location reliable across devices.The working style we valueHands-on, and takes real ownership of the apps.
