Senior Mobile Engineer | iOS & Android | Sydney or Brisbane | FTC | ASAP to 31 May 2027Our client, a leading technology business, is building brand-new native iOS and Android apps for a customer portal experience. As Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll own the build end-to-end, from architecture through to app store release, working closely with an existing .NET/React web platform.The opportunityThis is a genuine greenfield build, not a maintenance role. You'll design how native mobile integrates with an established web product, deciding where to reuse existing capability and where native implementation is the right call, with real autonomy and no dedicated mobile team around you.What you'll doDesign and build native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) apps for a new customer portalOwn the full release pipeline — App Store Connect, Google Play Console, certificates, provisioning, store submissionsIntegrate mobile apps with REST/GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, and shared backend servicesImplement WebView, in-app purchase, and native device integrations (camera, biometrics, secure storage)Set up and maintain CI/CD for mobile (Fastlane, Bitrise, or GitHub Actions) and crash/analytics toolingProvide technical guidance to the squad on native vs. web-reuse trade-offsDocument architecture and release process for handover at contract endWhat we're looking for5+ years in mobile development, with production iOS and Android apps shippedStrong hands-on experience with Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack ComposeWebView expertise, JS bridges, native↔web messaging, session/token handlingExperience with in-app purchases (StoreKit 2, Google Play Billing) and store complianceProven solo, end-to-end delivery, comfortable owning mobile without a dedicated teamSelf-managing on timelines, with a track record of delivering to a fixed engagementWhy this roleRare greenfield build with genuine architectural ownershipFull-stack visibility — direct collaboration with web, backend, product and designFlexible working, home or Sydney/Brisbane offices, your callLocation & contractSydney or Brisbane preferred, with flexible working arrangements.
