Android Developer Company: Doto Health (CareMother) Experience: 3-6 years in Android development Type: Full-time About the Role We build connected maternal and fetal healthcare products used in hospitals and remote clinics across India — including Fetomax, our NST/CTG fetal monitoring platform that streams live data from BLE Doppler devices. We're looking for a Senior Android Developer who is genuinely comfortable at the intersection of native mobile, Bluetooth hardware, and medical-grade reliability. This is a hands-on role across a mixed native Android + Flutter stack. You'll own the connection layer between physical devices and our apps, turn ideas into working proofs-of-concept fast, and help harden that work into products clinicians trust. What You'll Do - Design and build robust BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication with medical and IoT devices — device discovery, pairing, GATT services, notifications, reconnection, and multi-device sessions. - Handle real-world hardware edge cases: dropped connections, cross-connection confusion in multi-device deployments, background scanning, and OS-level Bluetooth quirks across Android versions and OEMs. - Rapidly build proofs-of-concept to validate new devices, signal formats, and product ideas — then iterate toward production quality. - Work with real-time sensor/signal data (e.g., FHR/TOCO streams): parsing device protocols, buffering, and reliable local storage and sync. - Build offline-first experiences with dependable local persistence and background sync for low-connectivity clinical settings. - Collaborate with hardware vendors, clinicians, and product to translate medical requirements into solid engineering. - Write clean, testable, maintainable Kotlin/Java, and mentor other engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions. - Keep patient data safe and compliant with DPDP / ABDM and general healthcare data-handling best practices.Must-Have Qualifications - 3-5 years of professional Android development (Kotlin and/or Java). - Hands-on BLE experience — you've shipped or built apps that talk to real Bluetooth devices, not just tutorials. Familiarity with the BLE stack, GATT, and libraries such as BluetoothLeScanner / Nordic BLE / FlutterBluePlus is a strong plus. - Proven ability to build fast POCs and prototypes to de-risk hardware and product decisions. - Solid grasp of Android fundamentals: lifecycle, coroutines/threading, background work, foreground services, and permissions. - Working knowledge of Flutter/Dart — able to build and maintain cross-platform features, and integrate native Android (BLE and platform channels) with Flutter code. - Experience with local data storage and sync (Room, SQLite, or Firebase Firestore/Cloud Storage). - Strong debugging skills for flaky, real-world, timing-sensitive scenarios. - Good communication and a bias toward getting working software in front of users quickly. Nice to Have - Experience integrating medical devices or regulated/clinical hardware. - Exposure to real-time signal processing or biomedical data (ECG, FHR/CTG, SpO2, etc.). - Deep Flutter experience — custom platform channels, plugin authoring, or FlutterBluePlus internals. - Understanding of Indian health-data regulation — ABDM, DPDP — or medical device standards. - Experience shipping apps used in hospitals, diagnostics, or remote-care settings. Why Join Us- Work on products that directly improve maternal and fetal care outcomes. - Real ownership over a hard, differentiated technical problem — connected medical devices at scale. - Small, fast-moving team where your POC on Monday can be in a clinic by next month.  To apply, share your résumé along with a short note (or GitHub / Play Store links) describing a Bluetooth or hardware-integration project you've built.
