Apply & track with Apply EdgeONSITE IN GLENDALE, CA Senior Android Software EngineerWe are seeking a hands-on Senior Android Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality mobile applications within the Android ecosystem. This role will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Mobile, Web and Backend Engineers, QA, and other cross-functional partners to build scalable, reliable, and engaging mobile experiences.The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Android Studio, and Jetpack Compose and can independently own features while contributing to architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance Android applications using Kotlin.Own feature development from requirements through production release.Write efficient, reliable, scalable, and maintainable application code.Build reusable components and solutions that can be shared across applications.Analyze and optimize application performance, reliability, and efficiency.Participate in coding, pull-request reviews, unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, Automation, Backend, and other engineering teams.Review product requirements and contribute to technical design and feature-development decisions.Apply Android architecture and object-oriented design principles to solve complex engineering problems.Promote software-engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less-experienced engineers when needed.Manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced development environment.Required Qualifications4+ years of professional Android development experience.Strong hands-on development experience with Kotlin.Strong experience with Android Studio.Hands-on experience building modern Android user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and Android architecture.Experience with unit testing, code reviews, debugging, and continuous integration.Experience throughout the Android application development lifecycle.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional engineering team.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Java and XML-based Android development, particularly supporting or modernizing legacy applications.Experience with Google Play and/or Amazon Appstore submission requirements and compliance policies.Experience developing streaming, media, or entertainment applications.Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude, particularly for debugging and unit-testing support.Ability to evaluate AI-generated code critically and apply established engineering and coding best practices.
