This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility product, influence technical direction, and work with modern technologies in a fast-paced, agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, test, release, and support robust production Android features for an enterprise-scale application.Collaborate within Agile delivery teams, actively participating in sprint planning, estimation, execution, dependency coordination, and release planning.Translate complex technical concepts into clear explanations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.Drive technical excellence through active participation in code reviews and design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, establishing engineering standards, and providing technical influence across team boundaries.Utilize modern Android development tools and frameworks including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Android Jetpack libraries, Gradle, and REST APIs.Contribute to architectural discussions and implement modern Android architecture patterns.Must-Have QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.7+ years of professional native Android development experience, including successfully shipping complex applications to production.Strong, recent hands-on experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Android Jetpack libraries, Gradle, REST APIs, and modern Android architecture patterns.Proven track record of personally designing, implementing, testing, releasing, and supporting meaningful production Android features within an enterprise-scale application.Demonstrated experience working effectively in Agile delivery teams, encompassing sprint planning, estimation, execution, dependency coordination, and release planning.Exceptional ability to articulate technical decisions, alternatives, risks, and tradeoffs clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.Demonstrated technical leadership, evidenced through contributions to code reviews, design reviews, mentoring, establishing engineering standards, technical influence, or leading delivery efforts across team boundaries.Nice-to-Have QualificationsExperience operating within a SAFe or Agile Release Train environment, including active participation in PI planning, dependency tracking, and cross-team release coordination.Prior experience in regulated, security-conscious, financial-services, or other high-availability environments.Production experience leveraging feature flags, staged rollouts, experimentation, kill switches, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and performance monitoring.Familiarity and experience with modular Android application development, CI/CD pipelines, build optimization, release automation, and comprehensive automated testing strategies.Demonstrated responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, or design exploration, with a strong emphasis on appropriate human validation.About Aquent TalentAquent Talent connects the best talent in marketing, creative, and design with the world’s biggest brands.Our eligible talent get access to amazing benefits like subsidized health, vision, and dental plans, paid sick leave, and retirement plans with a match.Aquent is an equal-opportunity employer.
