Anesthesia Fellow

Job descriptionAll fellows will be expected to deliver peri-operative care in their sub-specialty area with consultant supervisionCarry out pre-operative assessment including working in high risk clinics and presenting in MDT meetings. Deliver teaching to the department in sub-specialty area - departmental meetings & trainee teachingProvide on call cover with distant supervision in either theatres, obstetrics or intensive care on a 1 in 8 basisWork collaboratively with colleagues & other members of the multi-disciplinary teamDeliver high standards of patient focussed careWork to the Trust's objectives & valuesPerson specificationQualificationsEssential criteriaPrimary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)Full GMC registration with a licence to practiceDesirable criteriaPostgraduate qualifications in anaesthesia e.g. FRCAExperienceEssential criteria2 years experience in anaesthesia & critical careExperience working with distant supervision in theatres, labour ward & intensive careKnowledgeEssential criteriaEvidence of CPD activities related to anaesthesiaSkillsEssential criteriaEvidence of Initial Assessment of Competencies (IAC) & Initial Assessment of Competencies in Obstetric Anaesthesia (IACOA)Able to anaesthetise ASA 1 and 2 patients independently for emergency surgery with distant supervision
