Help build the Android platform that powers next‑generation video collaboration devices used in meeting rooms worldwide. We design and ship purpose-built, Android-based room systems—video bars, controllers, and a cloud platform for fleet management—partnered tightly with leading conferencing ecosystems.What you’ll doOwn end-to-end pieces of the Android stack across apps, framework, HALs/AIDL, and interfaces touching kernel boundaries.Port and modernize legacy services from Android 9/13 to Android 15, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.Design and implement new capabilities, including features like Microsoft Teams Rooms support and room-system enhancements.Make pragmatic architectural decisions, shaping platform direction and setting quality bars for user experience.Dive into the Android middle layer: Binder/HwBinder IPC, permissions models, SELinux, and HAL interactions.Ship confidently through CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing, improving pipelines as you go.Collaborate closely within a 16-person core applications team while working fully remote across time zones.What you’ll bringProven track record with AOSP, including hands-on framework development and delivery of a full Android platform or significant components.Strong coding skills in C/C++ and/or Java/Kotlin.Solid understanding of Android IPC (Binder, HwBinder), Android security concepts (app permissions, SELinux), and HAL/AIDL development.Comfort navigating boundaries between application, framework, and lower layers—curious, resourceful, and unafraid to dig deep.Pragmatic mindset focused on building polished, high-quality end-user experiences in a competitive space.Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).Why this roleImpact at the core: Your decisions influence system architecture, performance, and the day-to-day experience in real meeting rooms.Broad technical surface area: From UX-level features to low-level platform work—no silos.Products with real scale: Devices are deployed globally and closely integrated with major collaboration platforms.Remote-first collaboration with a tight-knit, experienced team that values learning and craftsmanship.LocationFully remote.
